I read somewhere that Lambert vetoe'd the current kit because there was too much green on it? Personally it's taking the piss, do they really expect fans to fork out £45/£50 quid year after year for a new shirt, I'm sticking with the one I've got. ILD OTBC
it is taking the piss, but commercial enterprise wins everytime. COmmercial revenue now makes up approximately 30-40% of most clubs income. If they don't change the shirt they lose out massively
here's one for everyone: would anyone be overly upset if say for example aviva, bought the naming rights to carrow road, therefore we play at the aviva stadium or something like that? would anyone be overly fussed if the club did this for £X millions?
If it meant we got the money and ALL they got was the stadium name, with no other rights, I would have no problem with that! We'd all still call it Carrow Road anyway!
Nope, as like many others I'd still call it Carrow Road, just like Newcastle fans will always call 'The Sporting Directors Stadium' (or whatever it is), St James' Park !
I wouldn't like it, and many Newcastle fans were very unhappy about it. Depends how many millions? There is a price for my soul
Not for me, there's already too many big company's using sporting events as advertising boards. ILD OTBC
Wouldn't like it but of course if its a choice of going into administration or that I would be ok with it. Really depends on the situation of club finances
Typical small club mentality! A thread about your new kit launch and the first 20 posts are all about ours!
That has to be a parody, surely. John Wark dressed up as a farmer, good sense of humour or down and out looking for a few quid, you decide.
At the end of the day, the Ground is ON Carrow Road. Whatever the name of the stadium, you would still be going to Carrow Road to watch the match. No problem with me personally, but I am saying that as someone who is unable to get down there anymore.
Well, I really liked the one we're using now so I was happy to pay for it (I have 2 infact!) but I probably will buy the new regardless, supporting my club and all that! As for the Binners kit video, I thought it was a bit cringeworthy but I actually was quite charmed by it as well - especially the bit where that old Ipswich player made the cameo (John Wark?) as the farmer. And very clever marketing too, appealing to the only thing the Binners have - history!
I think Ipswich are taking the piss personally, especially exploiting mentally ill people like John Wark. Love the shirt but they need to sort out the neck on the medium size. My father usually buys me a shirt as an early Christmas present, I was lightly stretching the neck on my shirt in a car journey for the game against Parma and I managed to rip the neck complete with a loud tearing noise, unfortunately I was sat next to my Dad in a car and he was like whats that? I saw a sheet of plastic on the road you must of ran it over.
