With 8 games to go and 24points to play for, we could be in for possibly the most exciting and nerve wracking and pains in the chest inducing finishes to the season ever. With the recent additions to our strike force and the imminent return of injuries, who does everyone think should/will get the nod to partner Holt upfront (I think its fair to say Holt is going to play every game injury/suspension allows). So generally, there is probably only room for one more striker to start, but who out of JACKSON WILBRAHAM C.MARTIN PACHECO VOKES should start and who will be on the bench, i cant see them all being on the bench so who will miss out alltogether??? I see it as HOLT + Vokes to start, Pacheco to come off the bench in the second half when there is more space,(either as a forward or as backup to hoolahans position behind the strikers) and wilbraham and either martin or jackson on the bench. But i honestly dont know what lambert will do, anyone got any ideas??
I would like to see Holt and Pacheo start although I would not be surprised if lambert started Vokes, Holt and Pacheo
I'm not sure about starting all 3 ken, I mean, we would have to lose a midfielder or defender then. I'm pretty sure all 3 will play at some time or other though, Pacheo starting and Vokes coming on as a sub?
I can see us playing something like... ............................ruddy r.martin........ward..............whitbread.........tierney ..........................crofts ...............lansbury...........hoolahan ..........................pacheco ..................vokes.............holt If that doesnt create chances i dont know what team will
I dont think pacheco will start tho because of age and lack of experience of first team games, and there may also be doubts over match fitness. Vokes has played so will be ready to go so to speak. I wouldnt be too upset if we didnt start either of the newbies to be honest, the team has done so well up to know, and i really fancy jackson to score against scunny if he starts but whatever happens Lambert knows best. The good thing is i think we would struggle to put out a bad side really whoever we chose as long as they played in there normal positions, we have such a good squad
With the quality we've got, its unfair leaving anyone out! But thats a fantastic headache for Lambert I suppose. I guess it means he can pick the team based on the opposition, as well as player quality and what they offer.
I certainly would not put it past Lambert to play Holt with both new signings. He is a very positive and aggressive manager. I think though that he will revert back to a diamond and only replace the second Striker. I honestly think he will start with Pacheco as there is a possibility that he could make an explosive impact. I see Vokes more as back-up for Holt, and definitely not in the same league as IFLG Holt.
