Anyone see that goal at Wembley today....you know the one that never was. It reminds me on one I scored at Heath Park, years ago!
I still carry the case of bitterness today, and will probably take it to my grave. Lost 1-9 we did....robbed!
<wah>

It was ridiculous. I can almost forgive ref's missing blatant goals, if you don't see it you cant give it, but i cannot understand how they can just give a goal on guess work.

Apalling refereeing. Something like this happens every week.

A player makes a mistake he suffers the consequences, a referee makes a mistake and .......................

Terry admitted after that it wasn't a goal. I'm not saying Chelsea would not have won in the end, if only due to Drogba's superb goal, but it totally changed the emphasis of the game.

I remember thinking to myself back in 1959 that Heath Park needed goal line technology. <laugh>

I have to admit, that my first impression in real time was that the ball had gone in. That said, the ref was in a better position than the real time cameras. A goal line official would have had a better view.

In situations like that the consequences could go either way. In this paqrticular case, I think it fired Spurs up to get the goal they hadn't really looked like scoring.

It's a great shame that players can't be honest. It seems that hollow victory is an alien concept to them.

In this case the ref was in a poor position about 12 yards out from the goal line. He, or the linesman, needed to be in line to make a valid judgement.

Atkinson guessed and got it totally wrong.

Yes, it fired Spurs up but then they were chasing 2 goals not 1 and ended up going kamikaze. Gallas playing like a total knob didn't help.
