This wasn't being done instead of paying creditors. It was being done to ensure the maximum return within the pot. Looking at the bigger picture isn't your strong point is it?

And pray tell how signing a 35 year old has been on a short-term contract for between 5 and 7.5k per week was "maximising the return within the pot"?

Worst analogy ever <ok>

If you have a 15 point lead, it's 15 points regardless of whether you've played one, two or 35 extra games. It really is that simple.

what

the

****

that's dumb!

15 points in front is a 15 point lead. Celtic still had to win games to win these points. There is no gurantees that celtic would have won those games in hand!

So how can we "chuck" this lead if celtc had games in hand? That's impossible.

In sporting terms a lead is a lead when you've earned it. Not when you've played more games than your rivals. Chickens should never be counted, especially with trebles <whistle>

Team A has 50 points
Team B has 35 points

Team A is leading Team B by 15 points <ok>

You hear this all the time in sport. In the Tour De France for example you hear them talk of Rider A having a 38 second lead over the field.

It's not complicated.

Its standard protocol to ensure the company in administration can maximise the most possible funds in order to pay off creditors, in this case prize money. Also, it was needing dealt with and the administrators still have a duty to ensure the health of the company. Cousin on £5k a week was more than worth it. There's nothing crooked or "undignified" about it. Unless of course you're offended by everything Rangers do.

The primary duty of care is to the creditors. Given that administration hit Rangers with a ten point penalty sending them a whopping 14 points behind Celtic. So what prize money is it you think cousin could have helped with? Standard protocol is to cut costs. Not add to them. Stop talking ****e.

even if Cousin could have helped in a long shot gamble to try and overturn such a lead, wages, agents fees and other costs would have made somewhere in the region of £200k. More than worth it <laugh>.....sure thing <doh>

We had no strikers, he is a striker and a pretty handy one in the SPL at that. Since the deal had already been done it had to be followed through. Another important factor is that Cousin could have sued Rangers if we'd just turned round and said, "Actually Dan, we're in admin now so that contract you just signed is worthless, see you later."

It had to be followed through otherwise we could have ended up paying the wages for nothing. You would have loved that though.

<laugh>

Where do you start with this one, you do understand they're on 75% pay cuts? Many of them offered to play for free, however that is not allowed.

Fatty? <laugh> In that case I assume you have the build of Marvin from The Scheme to be able to call me that. Good luck to you.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/16967931 - From 11th February 2012

We went into administration on 14th Feb 2012.

You need to go back to school son <ok>

By the way Frank, see that link you provided to prove that Cousin had signed before 14th February?

Explain why McCoist said in this same link:

"We are still waiting on some paperwork coming through from the Gabon FA," said McCoist after Cousin watched Rangers defeat Dunfermline 4-1.
"I'm told it should hopefully be here at the beginning of the week, Monday or Tuesday. Daniel will come in and train on Monday.
"As yet, he hasn't signed, but we are very, very hopeful we can get that done.

You went into administration on Tuesday 14th Feb.

So everything you've said about Cousin in this thread is utter, utter bullshit <ok>

What could he sue Rangers for? Not being able to register him? A signing is complete when the documents are lodged with the relevant authority.

Fuck me gently. They use seconds in the Tour de France because riders generally don't have measuring tape lodged between them.

Are you aware of the difference between finishing 2nd and 3rd? It's quite significant.

Someone might want to tell Mr Jelavic about that <ok>

So you accept that Rangers have never earned a single win in the last 10 years? In sporting terms of course.

I can confirm that all Rangers victories and all celtc defeats are "pure no fair" in sporting terms according to auld seizure Billy McNeill. This mentality was on display in its finest this afternoon.

What could he sue Rangers for? Not being able to register him? A signing is complete when the documents are lodged with the relevant authority.

Eh, loss of earnings. Rangers, due to the actions of Craig Whyte were culpable by ending up in administration. Not following through with the registration would have left us gaping wider open than your arsehole.

<confused> But when there is a TABLE charting their progress it is irrelevant?

Yes. Are you arguing that Duff and Phelps should have sanctioned a signing at £5-£7.5k a week to ensure Rangers held on to second spot. At a time when running costs needed to be slashed by £4m?
