It was definetly not Adel's best day this season however the fact of the matter remains that he is the one player we have that can produce something out of nothing. Its no coincidence that our last real chance (when Zamora managed to hit Mackie on the arse when unmarked) occured just before Taarabt was taken off. You dont have to like the guy or his attitude, but if your ever chasing a game or need a goal, you should never take him off
The 1875 not606 QPR forum wants it's withering parting remark back......All it needed was "Good day to you!" at the end.
(I agree with a lot of what you say Swordsy, but lost too much energy getting wound up and arguing about it before Xmas to get involved again.)

Why drop Buz for a slower Derry?
Why take off Adel when we are losing?

Seems to me that Taarabt continues to polarise opinion like no other R except perhaps Barton. If he underperforms he's ****e. If he wins the game single-handed he's a deity.

If we hadnt beaten Arse, Liverpool and Swansea we would be bottom of the league.
Our home form can save us, although frankly we shouldnt be in this godawful mess. We can beat Spurs and we will beat Stoke. If all else fails I am sure our mates in SW6 will do us a favour...LOL
Which is why im tempted to play HH. We can play him 10 mins per game and have Zamora miss chances or risk him and perhaps get a few wins.
He looked fit to me, he won every header today.
Strangely MOTD made us look a lot lot better than we actually were, particularly in the 1st half where they were all over us.
OOOH ? I and I think many others said keep the same team! I was scared MH would make that gutless negative move and he did. His over defensive approach away from home and especially today, will be a big reason for costing us us our PL place - him and the refereeing decisions.
SWP had a cracking snap volley saved at point blank range by a deflection yesterday. It was heading in, no question, Foster wouldn't have got it. I didn't think the little fella was as bad yesterday as you are all making him out to be. Zamora, by contrast, was poor, apart from a couple of fair efforts in the first half( which were down the other end of the ground from me anyway, so may not have been that good)
I was also really pi**ed with Traore right at the end. He let a ball run out, there wasn't long left but long enough...and what does he do? Smashed the ball 20 rows into the crowd giving West Brom plenty more time to waste. He needs to mature big time.....

Did he really get the tactics wrong? Admittedly I've only seen MOTD but if that is a representation we created loads of chances and what actually cost us was not scoring. Doesn't matter how many chances you create if you can't score. That's why I think Cisse will be straight back and instrumental to our survival because he is by far our most natural goal scorer.
Your first post on his was that you "never liked him and never will". That is a without question an entrenched viewpoint. And you have also demonstrated your inability "see the truth" right in front of you, you never liked him last year?! We all now how integral he was in our promotion. Well except for you apparently. This is the Mike Bassett attitude that has no tolerance for flair and no appreciation for the importance and rarity of a player that can effect the final third of a pitch.
I freely criticise any player that deserves it but swords you clearly waiti for a chance to criticise Adel because he goes against your old school football principles. You choose to pick out an individual mistake against Arsenal. That is bonkers. Where is your thread slagging off Derry for getting dispossed around the box on a few occasions yesterday?! Every player makes mistakes.
All the other points have been much discussed but the fact you criticise a player for being interested in going back to his home country to get a pay rise and join a team that will be playing champions league football next season is i'm sorry to say ignorant. If I was Adel I would be fuming that I got the club promoted but a waste if space like SWP is on triple my wage.
He is a complicated player but if managed in the right way is our most important and effective player and therefore desevres tolerance from us fans. His lack of form pre Hughes is down to this. Since Hughes has come in he has played very well in the majority of games.
Most revealing point about what you have said is that he "will never make it to the top with his dreadful attitude". You recognise he has the ability to make it to the top and this is what annoys me most. He can make it to the top and therefore the need for the mike basset rangers fans to criticse him everytime he has a poor performance infuriates me as it is counter productive.
I would criticise Adel if the criticism was fair but it isn't judge him on his Mark Hughes form, give him the respect he deserves and stop looking for an excuse to slag him off.
I think so. I agree we deserved a point yeterday, which is what in reality MH went for with his team, and with the over carefull way we played. When teams go for this, small margin of error leave you with nothing which happened yesterday. If we had been more aggressive, not just by playing Buz for Derry but really going for a win, we could have won or got a point. The call for me in a game which I think we really needed 3 points from and at least 1 point to suvive, was a big, big call which I think MH got totally wrong.
Ok..here goes again..i just posted something completely opposite on another site..
Last year: Adel was a big fish in a small pond. I won the league for us purely because he had Faurlin and derry to support him, cover up his mistakes and allow him to play as he did.
He is not our best player by a mile. Cisse, Faurs, Diakite and even the new JB would be above him on that. you could also include Hill.
He is skillfull, but so are loads of other players. He reminds me of a poor mans dennis bergkamp. He doesnt have the mental strength to succeed at this level (at the moment) Paul scholes and Rooney are grest players and they turn up and deliver 95% of the season.every season. What percentage of the season has Tarbs been good? 10% at the most...maybe. that aint enough to be in the prem. the Championship is filled to the brim with players that can have a great game every other month.
He's been given every excuse under the sun...Warnock, captaincy, wrong country, wrong colour boots blah blah blah..fact is...He just simply hasnt done it.
I'm sure he'll be great next year in the championship
His stats are shocking, his goals scored are shocking and his attitude aint the best./
He did bring a lot of this on himself with the public move to PSG etc..
Also..Barton get booed off the other week and has responed positively..what do you think Adel would do if he had that treatment..run away i'd guess.
I agree he has talent, but so does the bloke down the locl park......Its the other side of his game that is very much lacking and I'm not sure he can get it sorted.
this season for Tarbs (and many others) has to be considered a failure for him. very little positives except experience....
Hopefully with MH behind him he can get better, but, i fear if e go down he will be gone anyway...maybe there was a reason he was wasting away in the Tottenham reserve team after all...?
I just wish the real Tarbs could turn up once in a while...........before we sell him !
MOTD flattered us alot, we hardly had the ball in the 1st half while they were constantly threatening and that never came across on MOTD.
