Sorry bill but this time I am in total dissagreement with you. I can see nothing wrong with what Gyan and Mensah are saying, like us going to play Inter in a friendly, we pay to go over there and sit down to see Inter reserve team, I would feel a little cheated.

Now this we are England crap Bill, easy to be patriotic living in Holland, not that good over here right now, IMO. We are now in 3 wars, none mean a lot to most of us but we still see our men being killed on a daily basis, we have no money, I did my shopping on Monday, used to spend around £40.00 in Tesco shopping for me and the dog, £64.00 this week. Point is not do I spend to much or to little it's a £24.00 a week rise and thats before I put petrol in the car.

Cameron says we are England, we are one, we are all in this together, bollocks.

You hit a nerve with this one Bill.
 
Putting the jingoism and the dogfood supermarket bill aside for a moment; back to the issue at stake, it's a friendly ffs and it's a time to be experimental with a new and younger, fresher team. We complain the Capello always plays his team of lacklustre duffers ...nuff said
 
be interesting if england play well and win, then maybe people will have a different view. like myrtle says its a friendly and time to give other people a chance or we will be stuck with capellos nancy boys forever
 
For me this is what I've been waiting for for some time, a chance to see the new England, not just those that think that because they earn a certain salary gives them the right to play for our national team................ think of the last world cup and who did not deliver...........

Thank you for mentioning my feet, hey they look really good. Nails clipped and buffed and hard skin worked on, been wearing flip flops all day yesterday to show them off.

Just reailised I miss read the OP so may be eating some humble pie all day.

maybe if I just stay off for the day no one will notice, I feel a bit of an heel, soul destroying, a nailed on certainty for the sin bin, and my last one, the dog been unwell but now my pet-he-cured

Frankly, England have never lost to an African team and it has to happen some time so why not tonight against a team containing three Sunderland players in a meaningless friendly? Raises our profile, doesn't it? It will be interesting to see Welbeck being marked by Mensah.
Having written that first sentence, I can never imagine writing it about Sunderland.
In reaction to the OP's contention that "even geordies know that, and they are thick", I'm trying to see that as a tongue-in-cheek remark but I'm not in a humour-appreciating mood. We got burgled yesterday. I don't care about the couple of hundred quid they found, left over from our last trip to Sunderland and in readiness for our next, but they stole all my daughter's jewellery. She's not a happy bunny today. Still, as I tell her, we could be in Lybia, we have a friend who has just been diagnosed with cancer (and thoughts for VinegarJoe), so a little perspective is in order.
(Yes, Syd, that's perspective with an "s" - oh, sorry, didn't see your signature. Mind you, after those bad plays on words, you deserve everything you get!
 
Sorry to hear about the burgalry chats and your friends cancer diognosis and like you say it's always good to get things in perCpective, talking about pespective all through my life I always tried to judge a person by the size of heart rather than diploma. In my time I have met some fantastic thickos and some right nasty clever bastards.

Funny thing is I have also met the reverse, stayed at the Ritz in London and dinned with lords. Enjoyed a fantastic night in the Queens in Scunthorpe with a group of locals who would kill your mother for a fiver.

I was a lot younger then and part of a team in engineering that travelled from site to site on bolier repairs, worked 7 days a week and partied 7 nights a week. I remember the locals saying if you want a good night out get to the Queens. The organist was a lady in full drag who worked as a riviter during the day, nice man. Used to get loads of sailors in at night and they clashed with the locals, happy days. It must hve been 40 years ago, I take it the Queens is still there.
 
No closed down a couple of years ago Syd, i remember it was one of the only pubs in town that used to open for breakfast for the steelworkers, used to be able to get a full english and wash it down with a few pints. Don't know where the locals have relocated to but there are still a few 'interesting' establishments kicking about.
 
I agree with the OP, England should play a full strength team whatever the opposition or game.
Of course younger players should be given a chance, but within the structure of the whole England team.
And unless someone has managed to see a match under Capello I have missed we have been boring and tactically ****, even the games we won.

Lets get some pride back into being English, the Scots, Welsh and Irish do.
