how on earth did we not win that bloody game of footballl?! Ridiculous we dominated possesion 60/40 - i expect it was much higher second half, have 3 times the amount of shots on goal and many more corners.. 3 points dropped IMO...
I feel really frustrated, as i have just said to my mrs when we get beat like at Blackpool, i'll hold my hands up and say they deserved it, but Reading...... well it maybe bitterness talking but they did not deserve a 3-1 win
They didnt deserve a win at all! Bloody sky commentators calling it tactical, it was just plain lucky! Also helps that reading have a fantastic keeper and 7 defenders....
As a neutral. Reading looked calm and together and always looked like getting another goal. Saints looked very nervous, making stray passes a lot of the time and losing their heads (Sharp especially). Tactically Reading were spot on tonight and I felt that they thoroughly deserved the win while the scoreline may have flattered them a bit. What I'd say to pissed off Southampton fans is remember where you were a year ago. You'll still be promoted come the end of the season. And while I'm here, can you get that knob 'Jaytab' off our board? He's most annoying. Tally ho
When a manager leaves Chaplow on for so long when all he is doing is wasting good attacking chances (even though his positioning has got him into them) then what do you expect. Then when you change you bring on De Ridder who just stands behind defenders complaining that no one is passing to him. Then you see sense and bring on Guly.............to play defensive midfield? Sorry....Guly hadn't got a clue what he was supposed to do and should have been on the right wing from the start if fit. And as I said the other day on the 'who is good enough for the Prem side' thread, Fonte is looking like he is on the downslide in playing terms!!!! Saying that the 2 first half penalty claims looked pretty much in our favour to me, especially the first where it was blatant manhandling and the second was one of those 'blindside' forearms into the back. Referee saw both clearly and didn't give either. Their goals were purely from our poor defending. Something we have to sort out whether still in the Championship or in the Prem. Hooiveld is the only one of that back 4 that is good enough for starting place. So for all the Guly haters who say he is lazy and are wanting a headless chicken......his name is Chaplow..........Hope you're ll happy booing Guly now!!!
how can they look like getting another goal all game when they had 6 shots, 3 on target... we had NINETEEN.... poor finishing/ good goalkeeping has cost us tonight
Also, having had the benefit of television replays. I can say with confidence that the referee got everything spot on.
Because they are clinical and when they broke they broke with patience and tactics. They didn't just lump the ball to Roberts and hope for a knock down.
You must've missed the first penalty claim then where the defender had 2 hands clamped on Sharp's shirt and hauled him down similar to a line-out in Union!!!
Spew as many pointless stats as you like, Reading were just as good as us, if not better. We may have had more possession and more shots, but they had 3 clear-cut chances and we had 1. They never came into this game looking to control the possession. They intended to shut us out and counter effectively, and they did so with a little help from Fonte.
Sorry, but it wasn't a penalty. Sharp threw himself down and hoped for the best. If Andy D'Urso was refereeing, we may have got a pen!
The one where Sharp had the slightest touch on his back and embarrassingly fell down like a sack of ****e? Yeah, I saw that one.
Forgot about Chaplow , Jesus he was crap as well , Cork get away with this one as average , this was not a great performance by the team and thats why this will hurt as we nee to be playing well into the run in , Reading looked calm , we did not .
Sharp always throws himself down but it was a hand on either side of the sirt at the waist keeping Sharp on the ground. doesn't matter if he made more of it. The foul is what counts not the play acting that follows.
Nope that was the second one where the forearm went into his back. Much less of a claim for me that one however see above. doesn't matter if the player play acts after. Referee should award the penalty on the foul then book the player for simulation if need be.
