No, I think crossing is one of our best attributes

I would agree with you to a point but I have felt that the crossing in the last few games has been poor compared to earlier on in the season.

I know its the not the be all and end all but I have been trying to rack my brains when our last out and out headed goal came from a direct cross and the last ones that spring to mind are the West Brom games back in January. Someone is now going to correct me but even so for a team that scores an awful lot of headers and has made a brilliant success of that, to not use that so well for a while mysteriously coincides with Morison's downturn don't you think!

I don't think anybody who has seen us play think of us as a Stoke and quite frankly if they were stupid enough to go into games thinking that's all we could do then they would come in for one hell of a shock.

That Stoke game away was the worst game of football I can ever remember having to endure in m whole entire life so I'm glad we don't play the crap they do. If we were to play like them do you think the ground would be as full as what it is? Wise up!

And just so you realise I meant direct in the sense that it left the boot of a winger or forward placed attacker and found out strikers head, as opposed to one of the central defenders pumping aimless hoofs into the opposition half!

I think he's done a job and done it well, especially in the first half of the season. He is a very limited player, though, especially in terms of his first touch and his ability to work alongside other players. So the best I see for him is being a squad player and a) starting games where we use a lone striker b) coming on with 20 minutes to go when we're chasing a goal and he can add an aerial threat.

I definitely think we will buy at least one new forward in the close season because - strangely, despite all our goals - this is the area where I think we look weakest now. Another important factor, if Morrison stays, is how he will react to this. Forwards tend to be confidence/ego players, and can react badly to going down the pecking order.

Whatever happens, I trust Lambert to make the right decisions. His choice of players to come in has been simply phenomenal so far. Let's just hope it continues.

I think he's done well, and I hope he comes back firing for next season. Let's not forget he was playing non league football a few years ago

There are basically three types of striker. The poacher, those who like the ball in front of them and those who like to turn and face it.
Morison is the striker who likes the ball played ahead of him into a channel and make his choice from there. Holt is happy with the third choice. So depending on what style we are playing at the time each striker will come to the fore.
Morison has a poor first touch and can be closed down with his back to goal. But put him into the channel and I would back him 75% to get to the ball first.
I can't honestly say whether he is off form or our style isn't suiting his at the moment. We spent a fair amount of money on him for us so the management team must hold him in regard.
Its hard to be disppointed with any player really as we have had a dramatically good season and they have all played a part. Perhaps frustrated at his lack of scoring is how I would sum him up.

1. The other 3 strikers showing more of the qualities that lambert looks for, i.e. fighting for every ball, making runs, holding the ball up
2. By bringing him on as a sub this should hopefully show him that he needs to fight to get his place back
3. yes, have also heard from a Millwall friend that he seemed lazy at times and didn't seem to care, but just may be the way he plays, but has 8 goals and showed really good form at first
4. No beacuse Lambert knows he is still a really good option, although I do hope that we bring in a proven experienced striker in the summer

I would like there to be one more option next season particularly as Vaughan cannot be relied upon to stay fit, but actually, we have been perfectly good at scoring goals this season. Nobody outside the top 6 has scored more than us so far. We certainly do not need to break the bank to bring in a proven Prem striker as we now have at least 2 at the club in Holt and to a lesser degree Morison. I would however do all that is possible to get hold of Rhodes although unlikely I'm afraid.

People keep banging on about the eight goals he's scored, but when was the last one ? he's shot his bolt, I don't rate him and IMO we should move him on. Same goes for Wilbrahimovic, why does there seem to be this 'love in' with a 'striker' (i use the term loosely), who can't hit a barn door with a banjo ? Case in point was when he was put through against Everton and tamely hit the ball at the 'keeper. Just so happened he managed to get the ball to Holty who stroked the ball home. Holt even said he was in two minds as to whether he should run into the box at the time, he probably knew that Wilbs would fluff it so his mind was made up. Yes, Wilbraham can 'hold the ball up' well, but so can many others, they can also stick the ball in the onion bag when the opportunity arises, unlike him

Yeah it's been 9 games he's been involved in that he hasn't scored now but i do like him and I think he's a very useful player if thats the system lambert wants to play if its not and he has to change I don't think he fits in

Can't hit a bandoor with a banjo? Is 2 sub appearances and 1 start enough to judge that? When he's been on the pitch, we've played well and for me, that justifies playing him!

And get rid of Morrison? And replace with him who? You say he hasn't scored, but as I have said sooooooo many times it is because he is getting very little service! Other than one time he was put through on goal and he shot tamely and wide, I don't recall him being very wasteful. If Howson had found him in the Spurs game, he would have scored, and I suspect nobody would be complaining him. Just remember him effortlessly brushing aside Per Meretesacker and finishing off the job. Remember the time he crashed that volley from outside the box against Blackburn. Remember him thumping that really powerful header past Ben Foster who got a strong hand to it, and still couldn't keep it out. Remember the time he terrorized Swansea! I'd say he is worth sticking with!

Also, it does grate me when people turn their back on our players like this... anybody remember Simeon 'the expensive flop' Jackson from last year? Nobody was keeping with that thread by the end of the season!
