12,000 in a 30,000 seater stadium would be funny as <laugh>

Better just over a third full, than less than a quarter with 5k into 21k

    Work on your Maths Christopher;)

new stadia attract bigger gates as we found out, i am sure the gas may get 10/12k gates in the new stadium, whether they keep them depends on how they play their football. you must have a regular income from summer concerts etc to justify the expense of a new stadium. i just hope the pig sty hill light orchestra bring in the crowds, they used to.!

i spent many happy years in bristol alternalely watching gas and city, so i do not hate city. as for being a closet bristolian, the only thing about water closet is the preponderence of gas players to piss on their pich to supplement the hand cranked sprinkler system currently in use.the gas save money with this and their acetylene floodlight system, which apparently works more frequently than ours. the only thing vaguely bristolian about me is the steam train of the same name that propelled me to the city in london frequently

and yes i do know a lot about bristol and its football clubs and their fall from faded magnificance. having worked near bristol bridge for 41 years i learned a lot from this experience, the smells from the brewery when it brewed, large sand boats tieing up at bristol bridge to unload their cargoes, oh yes aj has lived in bristol, but shrewsbury town was, is and forever be my 1st love. and as long as the shrews go on pissing the league the happy aj will be.

local pub, country lamb inn iron acton, duke of beaufort hawkesbury upton
local pub city-winchester club-grand hotel, sceptre and the camra pub in fox st eastville, oh what was its name, of course the fox

Mind you, AJ lived in Park Crescent in Frenchay where I was brought up, so he can't be that bad <ok>

a happy loon, i did not know bluebaldy lived on riverwood. was the black horse hambrook open in your period in the area. and i did go down the gate on alternate saturdays. i have happy memories in the 60's of a line of say 15 doubledecker buses lined up to take supporters to the centre etc. and it was always the oldest boneshaker buses, bristol omnibus could provide. some had wooden seats.

hopefully a new stadium will arrest the gas falling gates but the team has to acheive success as well. runners up to retainers on the downs may not set the club on fire.

cue-chris-gashead for another rant about strawberries tinpots and bottling etc

and i was equally at home with that red red robin who kept bobin bobin along, in those glory days of big john atyeo, janzen derrick etc with manager peter doherty. but although a refugee in frenchay, hawkesbury upton and sodding chipbury, my real home is and will remain gods own county town of shrewsbury. do hope gas and city do something next season as this season has been a major disapointment for both clubs. perhaps new stadia will benefit both clubs. the sooner the better

new ground finally announced for the gas. flatholme, yes it will involve travel and the puffins may be a little unfriendly. big plans are in place for harbours, jetties and a hele pad. the good news is the island is duty free. my how the gas have landed on their feet. the move to the new ground is expected on 1.4.2055

at long last the memorial ground has been sold to the pound shop who will create a new shopping centre and the gas new stadium has found a site. and the new or slightly new stadium is to be some way away, gas will share and improve chippenham town's ground. sadly the new stadium on flatholme was refused planning permission because of the lack of access
