I have some sympathy for that outlook. My mum was a (chartered) clinical psychologist and I was wading through her books from a very young age. Crushingly dull, just hopeless. Sure, some insights could be fascinating (at least the ones that I understood), but such an imprecise science is always going to set my teeth on edge eventually. Still, it's a good stick to beat people with every now and then.

Well maybe not for some of them if you consider the ramifications of 9/11. Meaning all the stuff about "war on terror" and "weapons of mass destruction". Wise words, mister, wise words. I'm not sure I've ever used less than four dots. Three dots could simply signify a full-stop gone a bit wrong, an oversight. Whereas four dots and more signifies a thoughtful mastery of any given subject, for sure. Don't be hasty. Some things are actually worth not getting over.
