We must surely have amongst the best fans in the league. I am only really able to make it to away games, but I cannot remember a single one this season where we have been outsung. Especially Blackpool away. It takes a real group of supporters to sing like that, and even out-sing the home support while 3-0 down. Today was another outstanding display of support for our club. A complete sell out, massive noise. Not one of us did not feel completely gutted, heartbroken and shocked when Pompey's equaliser went in on 94 minutes, but that last display of resolve and resiliance in the form of the "we are southampton we're top of the league" chant as the ref blew for FT could be a massive boost for the players going into Monday. More of a boost than we realise.

It's true, I've been to a few away games this season and the support has been great. There were times today where it was absolutely buzzing where I was, ridiculously loud.

It's easy to support a winning team, but proof of support is how you do when things are against you, and lets face it Saints fans have had practice over the years. The fans can carry the team over the line, starting on Monday.

Its true yeah, but over the last 8 games or so we've been hearing stories from West Ham about fans booing the team off, moaning and whining about the style of play, people even coming on this forum saying things like 'well enjoy the premier league we've thrown it away now'. When we had the rough spell in December/January we got behind the team. Even last year when it looked like Huddersfield were uncatchable, we never lost hope.

I also think its really good that Nigel acknowledges the fans contribution so much, not many managers do that.

Todays all around rendition of Come On You Reds was the loudest I have heard this season at SM. There was a tendency to go quieter in the second half up to the second goal.

I was in Block 20 of the Chapel and the atmosphere was sensational. Tremendous noise and when Sharp's 2nd goal went in the place erupted. The Chapel was literally bouncing and making more noise than I've ever known. Cheering the 3rd goal at Millwall was nuts last month and today was special.

In 10 years of going to St Mary's that was the loudest i've ever heard it. When we scored the second goal the place was rocking. with all the familiar chants ringing out but so much louder, its a shame you don't get that impression when watching the FLS. When they did score the fans remained positive too which was great. Gutted i won't be there at Palace but i'm sure they will be fantastic.

Agree, we wiz rockin... Early second half the pressure and atmosphere got to supporters, we were too busy watching the game and willing for the second goal.. I was in block 34 at the very back and the heat from the crowd was amazing...I still preferred millwall game as the banter was hilarious. They sure have no sense of humour. Something p*mpey and Millwall have in common

That stuck in my mind. I was gutted at the final whistle, but the chant showed me how far we've come and want we can achieve. Can't wait for today!
