No it's not. Remember ( how could you forget ) Mr. Danish ,or whoever he was, fail to give us any of up to 3 pens against Barca ?? That night, we just sat back and watched them play pass after pass after pass and go absolutely nowhere for ages. That to me, was boring football. They got the hump, dived all over the place to the point even that cheating ring piece had to send one of them off, but still nothing for us. Worst example of bias in CL history, but hasn't stopped history repeating. Oh, and just to make the point, we had a seriously better team then than we do now, and it won't be like that next game, if we make it. I think we are well behind Barca now , but we will still give it to them.
If it was outside the box it would have been a freekick, so the ref got it spot on. I agree though Puyol interfered in it a lot to make it look a lot worse than it was. Step up Messi to calmly slot away his 57th and 58th goal of the season, pretty incredible still.
It was a foul but if there are 15 corners in a game and the referee decides shirt-pulling is a foul for the one just after Barcelona fall behind in the tie, you can't help but be a bit sceptical.
They were both penalties. Imagine if it wasn't from a set piece, and a player just grabbed your shirt to stop you running, you'd go mental if you didn't get the decision. The problem is that refs haven't been giving them and so we've gone from a little bit of jostling to full on rugby tackling, remember Walter Samuel on Drogba, that was a stonewall penalty. Refs need to start giving penalties for tugging and actually booking divers, and then people will start to stop.
Agree with this also. Surely FIFA should give refs licence to do this and make it clear that this would be happening.
Ref doing his best to help Chelsea tonight, even sending a Benfica player off. No complaints of a biased ref from anyone here of course...
Doesn't matter whether the ref is right or wrong, according to the OP. It's still cheating even if the ref is correct in his decision(s).... The ref has been given Benfica players yellows for the slightest of things yet letting Chelsea players get away with quite a bit.
Why would we complain over a right call? Garcia clatters into call, not even attempting to play the ball. Pereira gets a second yellow for a studs up challenge on Mikel. What don't you get?
Why would certain Chelsea fans complain over right calls in Barcelona games? The bias and bitterness towards Barcelona, despite the refs in each leg being utter ****.
Football, he doesn't get football. Pereira could easily have seen straight red for that tackle. Since when can you not attempt to go for the ball and barge a player with the ball in his path? I suppose if Pereira had picked up a sledge hammer and smashed Cole's ankle with it (ala Misery) in this guys eyes the ref would still be biased towards Chelsea.
Because they're not the right calls and people are fed up, not only Chelsea fans although we probably have a bigger reason than anyone else to be. But you don't get the bias towards Barca? Well that makes two of us.
