How about answering my other points, about position played, and teams played in? Did you just read the first sentence and then hit reply?

That's my point, Gerrard has had other jobs within the team at various stages. Chelsea are set up for Lampard to get on the end of moves if the strikers don't get the chance, Gerrard has more to do with setting up chances, is more box to box than Lampard. And assists don't say it all either. Modric gets very few assists, but not many will argue he isn't a great player.

That is a ludicrous comparison and irrelevant you have just compared Lampard a goalscoring midfielder to a defender to try and back up your argument.

Sorry but imo stats matter when you're the type of midfielder that Lamps amd Gerrard are, Modric is the heartbeat of your midfield and not an impact player like Lampard, Van Der Vaart would be a better comparison.

It is an irrelevant point. You only compare players with another if they both have similar skill level and play in same positions.

Exactly. Liverpool fans have moaned in the past when Gerrard has been played out of position to accomodate Lampard which must mean they would normally operate in the same position.

Gerrard is a fine player but doesn't run games like a Scholes, Xavi or even a Modric and he doesn't contribute as much by way of goals and assists as Lampard. Both P.L greats but Lampard has consistently been the best player in title winning sides. Gerrard has been the best player in non-title winning sides. The difference may seem small but it is actually massive.

Take away those good 20 minutes in the C.L final and Gerrards lucky hit and hope goal in the FA cup final v West Ham and people wouldn't rate him as highly. He's essentially Mr Hollywood.

Nonsense. Torres has got 3 goals and 4 assists in 25 league games, that's Heskey-esque but it doesn't mean he's a bad player and certainly not worse than Zamora, Bendtner and Agbonlahor who all have better records than him this season.

I'd refute that and say all thos mentioned have been better than Torres this season as a striker.

We're comparing careers in the PL between two greats and Lampard wins.

No, it means they're better as players according to your mate. My point was that stats aren't the be all and end all, do you disagree?

Well if you compare Torres' PL career to say Zamora's then he is far better, statistics also back that.

They're not no, but they're a great way to differenciate between two quality players <ok>

I'd argue the stats don't tell you as much about the quality of the player as the way they play. Lampard plays further up the pitch than Gerrard, who has played a number of positions in his career.

I've conceeded that Gerrard is better technically, his footballing brain is nowhere near Lampards which partly shows in the amount of assists Lamps has.

Gerrard is better to watch, hence why people say he's better full stop, we don't all have to agree :)

Lampard has played wide left and right for Chelsea. I suggest you check some facts before spouting bollocks. One thing Gerrard is better at though, diving like a girlie bitch more than any other Englishman in history until Ashley Young came along!

Big man syndrome? I didn't like your tone, turns out I was right after you calling me a twat and saying Chelski, I'm sure the others will back me up, keep your beak out if you're not going to contribute without being a smarmy little arse.

Has **** all to do with big man syndrome.

You didn't like my tone? What me saying Gerrard>Lampard cause that's all I said, wasn't winding anyone up and your reply is do one, yeah that makes sense, you got a response after being a knob and I couldn't care who backs you up, you are clearly a knob telling someone to do one for diddly squat.
