You know, I agree this thread went off topic and I was prepared to draw a line under it. What really gets my back up though is a comment like this. These are opinions and IMHO opinions about a rather important subject. Now I didn't happen to agree with Mr Croydon but I thought we were having a civilised debate and I certainly believe in his right to hold those opinions. However, whatever the opinions of myself and the other contributors are I am not happy to hear that this is all apparently "****e".

    Agreed.

I've been following this thread, and actualy enjoyed the tooing and froing, rather then the normal Chelsea>Spurs, Chelsea have no history blah blah blah.

I kind of agree with both posters, for me the constant need for footballer attention is annoying. Every week is some sort of black arm band day because some 90 year old groundsmans cat has died. Or if its not black arm bands, its t-shirts with madeline mcann, or suarez, or a million and one matches parading an old cryinc man because his son had topped himself...wheres the need? football is escapism for me, I don't need to see all this rubbish. just get on a pitch and play.

The only time they should stop is for something bigger, like a huge tsunami or to remember world wars as a whole. imho.
