How hard is it for a one time visitor to the Liberty to get tickets?

    Hi guys!

I don't post here often but I do lurk around quite a lot (not sure why, i just always forget to sign in then can't be bothered to look up my password...should just leave it as signed in) and I've come to the conclusion that the great swans community on here could help me out.

I'm an English swans fan living in bournemouth - i've been living in bournemouth for 9 years now after i was living in swansea from ages 1-8...i went to quite a few games at swansea when i was young and i loved the club and the place (was in tears when we moved house, albeit i was 8 ) going to swansea games got me into football full stop, and although i've kept track of the swans over the years, including a rather over the top celebration in my front room when they won the play off final, i've only been able to get to one swans game since i moved - last year me and my dad went on a trip down memory lane to south wales and we stopped in to see the swans beat doncaster 3-0. i had wanted to go for years earlier but never got the opportunity and annoyingly i was never available on the few occasions the swans travelled to bournemouth when they were in league 1.

At the start of this season i was thinking that i should try and get a tickets for a game this season (preferrably at home) because i was worried the swans would go down and i would miss the opportunity to see them in the prem. luckily we are safe now and look good for next season, and i want to try and get to at least one game...but the issue is that the liberty sells out every week! so, what are my chances of getting a ticket to a home game? and does swansea operate a loyalty system like southampton (me and my dad went to a few southampton games when we first moved here to see some prem/champ football) where you have to pre-book months in advance? because that would make things really difficult...

Alternatively, i could go to an away game; are tickets as difficult to get away from home? it looks like southampton will get promoted from the championship this year, so do you think i could get in there? i'd really appreciate the help because so far i've had no luck...although i suppose i am in a much better position than some of the fans on this board who live down under!! Additionally, is anyone else having an issue getting a shirt online? i bought a nice little swansea hat 5 years ago when i went down to south wales (didn't get to see a game on that occasion, although i think my dad got it from the stadium - can't remember to be honest) and another one last year when i went to the doncaster game, but what i've always wanted to get hold of was a shirt. unfortunately the website seems to have said they are out of stock all season - is this the case or are the SCFC site staff being a bit lazy?

I wonder if they will be more available next season...

EDIT - Just realised the title seems a little irrelevant...for context, it was linked to that query as to whether the liberty has a loyalty scheme or anything. i went to the vetch quite a few times but only once to the liberty. when i was down last year it was in the middle of demolition :(

as far as tickets go, you got more chance of getting **** from a rocking horse, not sure on the current situ regarding shirts, i suppose if the website says they're out, they're out i guess, although they did say they was having more in, but with the team going well, they could well be gone again.lol

The shirts sold out in a few days back when they first came out, and then the next batch (2 months later), also sold out fairly quickly. So, I would gather that they havn't got more in due to the fact the season is almost over. You could try Ebay?

As for tickets, good luck. I myself couldn't get a ST, live 60 miles away and saving for a mortgage and wedding, so the only chance I have had to watch the Swans this year is by using my mates ST when he can't attend a game. So, your best bet would be friends in Swansea that have ST's that can't attend a game tbh, either that, or try your luck with an away game (These are easier, I'v managed to get 5).

Bolton away will be your best chance to see a game this season, allocation will be 5,000 so there will be plenty to go around. As for home games I'm afraid to say but I think you've got no chance.

cherry take no notice of some as its very easy to get tickets for any match if you follow just one very basic rule........the minute you see on the web that tickets are on sale then act straight away and you wont have a problem. its the ones that dont act promptly are the ones who miss out and moan.....if i have family coming from england or wherever and they want me to get them tickets then as long as they tell me before the tickets go on sale then i will get them, i have never had any problem getting tickets....good luck cherry...

Dai, are you on a different planet to everyone else???

You have to have Jack Army membership AND a high number of points, which you can only get by attending loads of away games, to stand any chance of getting a ticket.

Take the availability of tickets for the Newcastle game,

Monday 26th - Jack Army members with 95+ points
Tuesday 27th - Jack Army members with 83+ points
Wednesday 28th - Jack Army members with 40+ points
Thursday 29th - Season ticket holders who are not Jack Army members
    Friday 30th - Trust and 1912 members
    Saturday 31st - General sale

I tried to get Newcastle tickets 1st thing Wednesday for friends who are visiting from Thailand(have over 40 points but under 83points) and they had sold out by then.

And it is like that for EVERY home game

Have to agree that you are on a different planet Dai. I have tried very early to get tickets for every game and have failed.

Be a lot easier if there were 3,000 or more tickets going on sale before each game .

SS99, do you know someone in the ticketing office who by-passes the official system to get you tickets?

there may be more tickets this season anyway as i dont think we will reach 16,000 STs . the administration have learned from last season so im told about bogus claims that went to ticket touts who's soul purpose was to flog the big games individually to make a huge profit......

Dai, How exactly do you get them then?

Are you a Jack Army member and if so how many points have you got?
Do you get them on the first day they go on sale or a few days later when they go on general sale to non Jack Army members?

Id love to know this as well STID!

Thanks for the advice Ash - doesnt seem fair us season ticket holders being able to get another ticket on top of the one we already have. People like the OP havent got a chance getting tickets really!

Copper, I'm one of the unlucky ones. Couldn't afford one and work commitments meant I couldn't gey.one........then 5 weeks before the big kick off I could have got one but already all gone.

Very unfair a ST holder gets priority on another ticket, they already have one ffs, but hey ho.

guys the second they become available and if i need a couple of tickets then im there like a shot, fortunately i dont need to get tickets every home game as a long standing ST holder. this jack army crap is not worth bothering about, you dont need it if you really want tickets....

Dai, you still haven't really answered the question. If what Stid says is true in post 6, and tickets are only on sale to Jack Army members with various numbers of points for the first 3 days of sale, how do YOU get them the second they become available? Are you a Jack Army member with lots of points? If not, and you still get hold of some tickets then there must be some foul play going on.
