When the BBC closed the old 606 site I was pretty pissed off at first as I thought that the debate and banter between online friends would be lost forever. However, it now seems that most of the old 606 City posters have made the transition here. I signed up for 12yards at first as it seemed the best alternative but it soon became apparent that apart from a few City, Wolves and Baggies fans the site was dying a death. I didn't like 'not' at first because of all the frills, avatars etc. but now, having got to grips with most of the features, I find it much better than BBC606. The main reason being the better moderation <doh>. The only thing I really miss about BBC606 is the fact that nearly every club had a good representation of fans on their boards. Whereas on 'not', there are still many team's fans who don't post, even PL teams. If that were to be rectified, I would say this site would be pretty much the perfect place for the football community in this country to debate.

Which do you prefer ?

OTBC ... CTI<ghost> ... ILWT

I was on 606 and I have not tried any other site. This one seems just fine.As you point out some teams havn't got much going on but Norwich is good.

I went as far as changing my user name to Cromercanary(save606) when news of it's demise was announced.
But a few months down the line, I don't really miss it at all - especially all the emails from the BBC mods waiting each morning saying 'your post has been removed' <doh>

I miss input from Weaver and Jimbob, but as the OP says, most of the old guard have made it onto not606 <ok>

I'd forgotten about those emails Cromer <laugh> And what about that ridiculous 1 minute (or was it 3 minute?) rule <doh>

I never really got into the old 606. I also didn't really get into not 606 originally but now I love it. Dave, Maestro and originally Thai do a brilliant job. It's great that there's more flexibility on what people can say. But obviously there has to be a balance that there clearly wasn't on the old 606.

i prefer this site, but like others above have said, it's a shame some teams have no representation on here, so there is no banter on match days. At least Ipswich are here.......!
there's a few old school missing, like weaver, jimbob, carrabuh and wallybrain to name a few

bravo all!

Carrabuh certainly signed up to here about 18 months ago, but to date, he's only posted once! He was on 12 yards for ages, but when it became obvious he'd made himself look silly with his 'not premiership standard of players' statements, he disappeared!

Thanks to all you here on ´not´
We´re turning this into a spot,
Where it´s good to be
Forget the BBC
At the end there they just lost the plot

But I too would put out a call
To Weaver and Wally and all,
If they´re listening in
There´s plenty to win
By entering Canary Hall. :D
