Davis

Richardson Fonte Hooiveld Fox

Chaplow Cork Schneiderlin Lallana

Lambert Lee

This is on current form. I think Sharp might be more effective for us in the long run but so far Lee has created the more chances and looked more dangerous IMO. Similarly, Chaplow and Guly are a close-run thing. Chaplow at his combative best, with his runs into the box surely has the edge seeing as he can defend and attack when he's on his game.

You must be joking. Skill wise Guly is on a different planet to De Ridder,

Guly will be in the team if/when we make the PL and De Ridder will be gone. He is nowhere near the same standard or quality as Guly.

We have seven maybe eight players good enough for the PL: Guly, Lallana, Lambert, Schneiderlin, Cork, Davis, Lee and maybe just maybe Hooiveld but I am yet to be convinced of that.

As for the others I will be very happy to be proved wrong but please do not ever suggest that De Ridder is as good as Guly.

I disagree Godders, I think that our current starting XI is good enough to compete with most of the Premier League. I've noticed that you think that our whole back four isn't good enough...but we have one of the meanest defences this season. I'm really suprised that no-one ever praises Jose, to me he is just the same cool, confident player he was last season, maybe he hasn't scored any goals, but that is not really his job is it. I think that Jos and Jose compliment each other well and Rico and Foxy's delivery from the wings have been vital this season. I expect that, if we get promoted, then there will be additions to the squad, but I don't expect the whole backline to be overhauled.

I agree. I think our whole back 4 is good enough for the premier league. I actually as a whole we have enough already to stay up if we play our cards right tactically and selection wise.

The players that aren't good enough are definitely Puncheon, Harding, Bialkowski. I don't see why the others can't do a job in Prem

before we bought sharp- a donny fan wrote that to get the best out of sharp, he has to be played every game from the start as he is no good as an impact sub

I think Nigel is bedding him in and, like he did with Rickie, working on his fitness. Still think Sharp will be a great player for us!

I think he will be ok as a backup/impact sub, but I don't think he will be a starter in the Prem personally

Completey agree! If i remember rightly, Lambert never started scoring for fun untill a few months into his saints career

I think you could say that about a few players in the current side. Personally, I think he will start matches in the PL, provided Saints are promoted, of course.

And yet he still managed to bag 36 goals in all competitions [58 appearances] by the end of his first season. Scored for fun in his first Saints match too. ;)

For the record, he managed 21 goals in 52 games, in his second season, after not being 100% fit, and is currently on 28 goals from 39 games.

Another one to agree with this. The people who have slated Sharp haven't given him a chance to settle in at all.
