MERCURY BAY 4.00 Exeter 14-1 has shown all his decent form on good going or firmer so you cansafely ignore his last two runs. Without those he has a very consistent profile and in suitable conditions should go well again here. The 14-1 on offer with Bet365 is twice as good as elsewhere and is stonking EW value. He is a runner up in decent company between the flags. The one downside is the yard could be in better form.

KOWLOON 5.00 Exeter 7-4 Was 2-1 earlier when I put him on the Monday thread but hardly surprising that's gone. His form with Velator is outstanding as that horse was so well handicapped when he was runner up to him. The third won next time out so the form is rock solid. I rate him an even money chance and have backed him accordingly.

    Morning one, morning all.

Nothing for me today, but I will say a couple of things, firstly its a glorious morning and more importantly I hope Mr Nicholls' daughter is recovering well from her virus. Never nice to hear about serious illness.

Hello, everyone. Nothing for me today so the ‘no bet’ banner is fluttering in the breeze as we speak.

As discussed yesterday the Mares Hurdle Final, across the county line in Royal Berkshire, at the weekend looks a Corker with a capital ‘C’ but by comparison I see that the Mares Chase Final hasn’t attracted the same level of entrants to date and has had to be reopened! That must really disappoint the old Racecourse Executive given the generous prizemoney put up for the heat.

My laptop also had a virus last night - a so-called "drive-by-exploit" caused by malicious pop-ups. A lot of these doing the rounds in German cyberspace at the moment. The virus generates a full-screen HTML document which you simply can't move - the task manager won't start, you can't click it away or minimise it. Virus can infect explorer.exe or in my case ifgxtray (intel graphics manager). I've had it twice now, first time I could simply reboot in safe mode, find the little beasties in config.sys, disable them and delete them. But the one last night was worse, couldn't disable it in config.sys, had to download kaspersky's free virus scanner and use a 3rd party software to disable the ifgytray process in startup.

Don't know if it's related but I couldn't get on here all evening - database errors again

Odddy I had one of those dodgy virus things the other week. The one on my comp was a fake police message basically accusing me of being a peado and saying I needed to pay 100 quid to use comp again. First thought was you have got the wrong person GDC is the culprit.

    No bets for me today.

Alasi would be the obvious one I suppose. Then you have the useful Irish pair of Shop DJ and Knockfierna.

Last time I went to the races (Newbury in mid January) there was actually a Mares Novice Chase on the card and Nick Williams’ Kateal won it very nicely. Although a step up to the Final would be a big ask for her. The 2nd that day (Don McCain’s Araucaria) is no mug either. Meanwhile, Mr Henderson always excels with mares and you would expect his name to feature amongst the entries.

Although the Exeter course could be a bit testing for him, Osgood (3:00) on the forecast good ground (good-to-firm in parts back straight) is a tempting e/w bet nonetheless. His recent win at Taunton puts him in with a bit of a squeak? Will have a small e/w play at the current decent odds.

One for me today runs in the 4.10 Kempton COMPTON PRINCE 12/1 (EW), looks a nice EW bet LTO he was up alongside when going well but hung left and was hampered 1f out and beaten 2 3/4l. He is dropped back to 6f and if he gets the break will be difficult to catch and could provide winner for a stable that does well this time of the year on the AW.

I've read reports here of a few people who have paid the 50 and then a few days later the thing pops up again and asks for more <laugh>

not the reason you couldn't get on here all evening i don't think. ron will know more but i believe the site crashed thanks to a thread in General Chat discussing whether an explicit video that cropped up on the internet yesterday (allegedly of a british celebrity though i wouldn't like to speculate) was one of the first entries on google for all those looking for said video and resulted in 10000 guests viewing the thread!

Spot on. A sex tape (allegedly of Tulisa) was released on video. If you Googled "Tulisa sex tape" Not 606 came up at the top of the list due to a post that referred to it saying "Quick, get in before the lawyers do" . I missed it because by the time I could bloody well get on, the video had been removed. In the space of 24 hours there were at least 100,000 viewers on Not 606 and at one time well over 9,000 were on line. Mick then reduced the number of guests that could come on to give priority to members.

This may well have something to do with why some people were unable to get on from work.
