Except in the heat of the moment I would never racially abuse anyone. They might be an idiot, prat or plain stupid, but there would be no adjective in front.
Bump. Do we really need to use personal insults because of differing opinion? This forum is quickly going downhill if this keeps happening imo, petty squabbles of namecalling keep cropping up
When I first saw the title of the thread, I hoped it was going to be a list of favourite insults from various posters - unfortunately it isn't! Do people actually care what some anonymous cyber warrior calls them on an internet thread? I say grow a pair and ignore the insults, or stay in your own precious little bubble where nothing bad can come near you. If the insults offend, don't respond to them or use the ignore button, it's not a difficult concept is it?
Depends what you're calling a personal insult. If somebody disagrees with you by saying "no, you idiot" it's a very small deal and can be ignored, it only becomes an issue if constructive arguments are replaced by "you're wrong because you ****ed your sister you inbred twat".
There might not be a need for it very often, but it does serve a purpose. Plus some insults are just bloody funny. I am a 45 year old child so am easily pleased, but I do enjoy seeing a finely crafted example thrown into the pot. My personal favourite is 'Piss dripping dog's cock' by the way as it is straight to the point. (in those situations when you just can't say ****)
That is not what a football forum is for........there is no need to insult and it is against the forum rules
As expected, it's started. First one finds a really nice forum, which has been operating for a few months, so one joins in and finds that the contributors have some really interesting things to say, and they don't get into a flap at a different opinion. It almost felt too good to be true. Then one day, someone new to the forum came by and threw an insult into the works. This resulted in a few posters bemoaning the fact that posters have to insult each other and why we couldn't just agree or disagree, but get along anyway. I think a few of us predicted that the best days may already be behind the forum as no doubt, some new posters would come on and suggest that others should grow a pair, or indeed bugger off, as they were allowed to say what they wanted to say. These new posters do not respect anyone in the least, and indeed often frequent other forums, which they grace with their views, and don't respect others there too. So I'll make an appeal to them. Please return to your previous forum. If you can't disagree with a degree of good manners then don't come back. I'm not picking out these two above, I just highlight their comments. Really, truthfully, those who can't behave reasonably should go away. You're not wanted here.
Joey B springs to mind, admittedley myself in the past but I realised there is no point anymore and I'm above that but it still happens
Totally agree with Fran and TSS. This forum was great at the beginning, and for quite some time. However, even if it is the same people, the rest of us have to read through it. All it does is interrupt what may have been an interesting thread with a good flow of debate to it.
Don't get drawn in. I realised that no one can really believe all that Joey B writes...I think of him as the Alf Garnett of the financial world. Ignore WUMs.
Ignore list them. I don't feel the site has deteriorated in quality at all but can see why some would - no point giving up on the site because of individuals! This applies to you, TSS and anybody else considering writing this place off.
It'll only get better if you contribute to it and make it how you think it should be - the words of St Godders
