Purely hypothetical of course, but if Jose Mourinho was to openly state that he's interested in being the next Newcastle United Manager, would you consider sacking Alan Pardew to get him in?

Although it sounds unlikely, he did have a very close bond with Sir Bobby Robson... ok, clutching at straws a bit but it's just a bit of fun <cheers>

No

Mourinho, Ashley and our transfer budget would be a recipe for epic and costly failure

This is true...

But I'd like to see how he does at a team without a budget. I'd say the term 'special one' has been slapped on him a little too easily, if you look at whereever he's been he's been backed by millions upon millions (Porto aside). Would attract more of the likes of Santon etc.

Interesting question.

I think I would although it would be extremely harsh on Pardew. We would be able to attract bigger players because of him although everywhere he's been successful he's been able to spend bundles of money whereas that wouldn't be possible at NUFC.

Nevertheless I think he'd do a great job at Newcastle.

Pardew has done a good job, but Mourinho is a better manager, people forget he has done it without money at Inter and Porto.

He spent about 130 million Euros at Inter - Okay, in his second season he also made a bunch of money on sales, but to say he did it 'without money' is completely ridiculous.

Wasn't aware of that, but he is still a quality manager and didn't just walk straight into a top job like other managers.

You just have to take the chance if someone like Mourinho hypothetically came calling for us. Pardew can be replaced, he's been great for us but he's flawed and replaceable in my opinion. That's not to say I don't appreciate him though, I just wish he'd tell his players to play football instead of hoofing it all the damn time.

Obviously in aminority position, but I think the personalities would make the Keegan saga seem like an amicable partnership by comparison

It's a total no-brainer for me... Jose Mourinho is the best Football manager in the world in my opinion.

If you look at his success at every club he's managed, there is nobody to rival his personal achievments at such a high level, at so many different clubs.
He's not turned 50 yet!

Mr Pardew is probably riding the crest of his career wave right now, but he would get binned straight away if JM was looking our way. <ok>
