I get the feeling there will be an article on the Ipswich board in the next few days titled "did you know how serious our debt crisis is?" None of them seem to know, until now, that is.
Can i just say this thread has been a real joy, and thank you to all who are contributing. When Guru and Hamps climbed up to our board to suggest that our form (12th best in PL off the last 6) is a sign of doom, i never imagined we'd end up discovering how much trouble the entire financial institution of ITFC is in, and how ignorant or deluded their own fans are about it. I didn't really know much about ITFC's situation but now i do i have to say that ME is a genius! He's worked out how to print money. I'm baffled by ITFC's decision not to try to renegotiate their deal with AVIVA after the 2 yrs interest free period ended. By letting ME buy, they've just shoved all their problems in a cupboard where they will fester and grow worse while pretending its not there any more. The number of fans who think ME is going to pay off the debt owed to him from his own personal wealth and not from ITFC's coffers is bizarre!
This thread is genius. They're on the way down again so have chosen to flood it with something irrelevant and off-topic. Of course Evans will get his money back and in abundance. To do that we need to be successful and we will be.
brilliant yorkie. keep taking those pills... so far, the thing you've made us most worried about is the state of our pitch - which is looking a tad ropey to be fair! i think you've got a million times more problems than us right now. £600k should sort the pitch out in the summer. cheers for bringing it to our attention - a nice new pitch will help us play our sublime football once more
I thought they were pinning their hopes on wiping the debt out by getting to the pl, shows limited financial understanding and just think how much worse it would be if wickham and Walters hadn't been sold for ludicrous money. Deep deep ****e. Stop ignoring it u fools
yorkie, what happens if he's not successful and you don't get promoted. lets face it, you've barely even been in the top half since he arrived have you?
I think you have bigger problems than us old son. You will be back in the Championship in 15 months' time and we'll be back in the Prem, where we will stay. We'll be playing Champions' League football within ten years and Evans will make millions in profit from the club.
What happens if I get hit by a bus tomorrow? Who cares? **** happens? I'd rather aim for the stars than be a nobody! If Ipswich Town remain a Championship club or lower for ever then I don't really give a monkeys what state the finances are in.
The club and the debt is owned by him! He can't ditch us unless he wants to lose all of his investment. I'm not so stupid as to believe that he doesnt want to recoup his investment and make money far from it. After years of not being in the top flight the job of building it back into profit will be a great deal harder as every season ticks by. Evans is in this for the long term believe it or not thats up to you. Your budgie bias is obviously going to believe that he wont and arguing the toss about it doesn't make you right. Debt is good, bad debt is bad and we are more than able to meet our annual running costs and buy players. The big task set out by clegg has been to reduce staff wages including players to not exceed more than 50% of income. At the last AGM the plan was on track to deliver these savings in line with our long term fiscal plans. The longer we stay in the Championship the harder it will be to reach our objectives but that is true at every football club. We are not throwing silly money around on transfers and we shall be able to comply with financial fair play rules within 2 seasons.
you might want to keep an eye on that abundance there. Seems to be growing by at least 7 million, plus any money he loans you to cover up your loses year on year. Even if you get up next year, and stay up the year after you would still struggle to pay your debts. That's before you've bought new players, paid their improved salaries, or any other improvements to stay up. You might do it, but if you do go up, you would be plum favorites to drop again pretty quickly for just that reason. Your financial future looks as stable as a blancmange in an earthquake right now.
alright, fine. now i know you are joking. it wasn't very funny but its often good to make jokes when things are bad
Wow i've bookmarked that one! Thats the best statement you've made since you said Roy Keane was a "world class manager"
can't wait to see how evans gets your wage bills down from the current 99% of income down to 50%. thats going to be very interesting. i wonder if he'll buy the naming rights of portman road...
Yep corking joke, seriously ur ****ed. Just get it off ur chest and talk about it we'll all be sympathetic
also, your club only met the running costs last year because of extraordinary player sales. you won't be doing that every year!
