When will I ever learn, posting after a loss is never a good idea with emotions running high, mind I was sick yesterday. Anyway, a nice walk with Osca, sun is out, we are both alive, well he is asleep again, and all is well in my little world. We sit 9th in the EPL, not 7th or even 6th but still nearer the top than the bottom of the table. Being Sunderland we are more than likly to beat City away, we do that sort of thing, but no easy games to come but surely games we should do well in! City away so not easy but nothing to lose. WBA at home so 4-4-2 and a win please. Brum a tough away game but the pressure will all be on them. Wigan Fulham 2 home games that must give us back to back wins. Bolton after City our hardest game, could decide our final position. Wolves our last home game and one that could see us all with mixed emotions. W Ham Could be a party day for both sides with nothing to play for We have players with a lot to prove, lets hope they get out and prove it.
morning syd, simple fact is if we are to win games we need to score goals, but if we are to lose lets go down fighting and at least test the oppositions goalie, yesterday i think rena could have brought a sleeping bag
Very disappointed with our attacking efforts yesterday but if anyone had said at the beginning of the season we would be in 9th place at the end of March I would have called for the men in white coats.
give them some sambuca, about the only shots they're getting at the moment, at least then they may see three goals and aim for the one in the middle
Gyan up front with Richardson behind worked for a few games but not the answer for me. Back to 4-4-2 with Gyan and Welbeck out and out strilekers. Lets see Muntari and Catts in the middle with Sess on the left and any one from Henderson,Steed,Richardson or Elmo on the right, even Campbell when fit. Get Turner back with either Bramble or Ned in the middle, dont mind Anton at full back.
Syd - You SHOULD know better, and after a nights sleep (to get rid of the effects of several pints) I can now post with a clear head. We were very, very poor - after the first 20 minutes or so. The early subs we had to make didn't help, but there were far too many players who did not turn up. Gyan had his worst game, Sess was anonymous, the CB's were not solid, never really saw any runs by the FB's (Ferdinand looked as if he picked up a knock AND kept ambling into position), Hendo looked run down, Welbeck was far from match fit, christ I could go on and on. Simply put, it looked like 11 individuals without a cohesive plan, and most of the individuals had bad games. Yesterday was bigger than just a game, as a win would have firmly set the sights on a top 7 finish with us being just 1 point behind the scousers and a good run in to cement what has happened earlier in the season. Now, we are in the upper/mid table mix. Lamentable threat on goal, only shot on target was Catts with a couple of minutes to go!! We've all talked about the need for, a striker to replace DB, a LW with skill, and others.....!! What we should be looking at is getting ONE of our existing players to be able to deliver a quality cross into the box from set pieces! Sun is shining, I'm happy and red 'n' white - happy days
went down to the pub in sunny stavanger yesterday to celebrate my birthday hoping that it would be a real celebration. What did we get? 11 players walking around the park. Even with the two early injuries, there was just no fire, no passion, Liverpool were there for the taking. A few weeks ago most were talking about europe......what now? If we play many more games like that we will be well and truly in the 5H1t! No movement off the ball, shocking passing, marking fresh air..I could go on. This sounds so negative, just feeling so let down, I know I should be used to it being a Sunderland supporter, but a hint of promise and we start to believe. Just hope we can turn this around and do something in the next few games.
worth a shot that mate, no actually i like that thought, only concern is apart from the back we look a bit light weight
Glad I didn't post after the match yesterday also glad I didn't have a loaded gun as that shower of sh--e would all be lying in pools of blood if they could be bothered to bleed. As you may be able to tell still not over that pathetic display, I watched the mags on Lithuanian Sky they got beat watched England rugby on Saturday got beat, went to SOL for a nice afternoons entertainment got beat, then watched The Falcons rugby got beat. Went out Sunday night for a meal and a few bevys then work this morning. Was supposed to work yesterday but it got cancelled due to some trucker breaking down on the way up from Folkestone the fat useless yorkie crunching git would have saved me from that garbage yesterday. Never mind onwards and upwards as if we go any further down we'll be in the relegation mess (6 points off now). This last batch of games including Man City I was informed by many that I should be optimistic and we'll get about 6 or 7 points from these games, I said 5 tops even if we beat City that's still only 4 optimism doesn't work lads believe me.
