Not sure I agree. A leeds win puts them a point behind us. Highly unlikely that we'll get in the top 2, especially the way Reading are going. I'm focussing on 6th at the moment, so would be happy for the teams behind us to drop points. Doesn't really matter if we're 3rd or 6th so long as we are in there.
Yes a win for Leeds does put them a point behind us, but we still have a game in hand over both Blackpool and Leeds. Birmingham are the team we need to worry about, one point below, and a game in hand.
A win for Leeds does not put them a point behind us, it would be 4 points. The Beeb table is "as it stands" - that's including the present scoreline.
Don't worry about Leeds - we can clinch the playoffs for us, and another season in the Champ for them in our last home game.
Judged on that performance how the hell did Middlesborough get to where they are in the table? I was worried about the Borough fixture but watching them against a probable mid table leeds side there is nothing to fear when we play either.
Careful what you wish for , the way Cardiff are playing of late all they need is a tenth team just outside the playoffs putting more pressure on the Bluebirds . Hell , Coventry have scored half your goals in the last 4 league games . There the only ones that have a winning goal for you ... YIKES !!
2 - 0 Result and Warnock in charge. I would have rathered a draw. They've got far better players than their position in the league suggests, and with Warnock preparing them to slug it out, get them organised and play dirty I think they'll scrape in to the top six - just hope it's not at our expense.
Must admit Warnock in charge does worry me, but can't agree they've got better players than their position suggests. They are where they are for a reason. Apart from Snodgrass, I wouldn't have any of them. They are a mid table side that has had a good result today against woefull opposition (on the day that is). I still see Boro as a major contender in all this - even autos. Warnock can get them going alright, but he's not a magician. They're just as likely to lose next weekend at home to West Ham. Anyway, the remedy is in our own hands. Four points ahead of them with a game in hand right now, and we play them at the CCS in our last home game.
On balance a great result for us. We now have to win the 3 home games to put pressure on the teams around us. Still waiting for Reading to hit their bad spell.
Yup - I'd take him as well, but not at that price - he'd be good cover on the bench. I'd play Conway before him. Snoddy for a couple of mill would be my guess - maybe 3 mill at a push with Rossco thrown in.
