At race meetings, if a favourite loses in a dodgy kind of way, there is a demand for a stewards' enquiry. We need an FA enquiry and we need it now. West Ham and Southampton have clearly conspired to keep the race for promotion "interesting" for the punter by throwing games. What other explanation can there be?
Of course, the explanation could be that we all should forget the predictor and focus on games. As Alf Garnett once said (c1966?) "Everyone knows West Ham is the best team. Why won't the others let them win?" Strange how teams like Ipswich and Watford turn up and refuse to meekly hand over the 3 points. It's very unsporting of them, but I suspect that other teams might do the same to the two of us and - let's hope - Reading et al.
Hold on to your seats, guys!
