Funny how information like this will change peoples opinions. From 'oh he doesn't care and has a poor attitude' to 'He has shown great commitment by playing through the pain'.

players play with injections all the time - its not ideal but it can help for a while. he's clearly not been 100% fit but then most players aren't 100% - they all have niggles. might be playing on his mind though. once he's rested he just needs a goal and he'll forget about the injections 
.
Just finished reading Hucks' autobiography and it appears he was playing with painkilling injections for quite a while but you would never have known
