http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17311341 Happy about this if I'm honest. Great for the team and had been performing well recently. Always liked him, don't care what people say!
the players all love him and lambert is a big fan. its good to see that he's turning a few city fans around who didn't have much faith in him - he's got his weaknesses, as do most, but he is an important member of our squad and should be respected. he's becoming a bit of a cult figure at carrow road and other managers obviously like him too!
Thing is, strikers are primarily judged on goals scored. While there is no doubting his effort and overall contribution when called upon, strikes me (pardon the pun), that he can't 'hit a barn door with a banjo' !
Agree that he definitely should not have been loaned out, and has certainly done well in the last few appearances. But it wouldn't surprise me if he left during the summer, especially given his age, I expect he may well want to play more regularly and would do very well for any champiosnhip side
strikers don't have to be judged on goals - thats a choice of the person doing the judging! i bet if you ask holt who he'd rather play with he'd say wilbrahimovic because of his hold up play. its all about how players compliment each other within the team
I think his primary intention was to argue about Campbell and welbeck, and that's it! He's not a goal scoring striker though and doesn't have to be. He created a fair few chances when he came on against man united.
True perhaps, but he still can't hit a barn door with a banjo, another Dean Coney if you ask me. I'm sorry to disagree but he's not PL class, never will be and he'll be off in the summer
i don't think he's premier league class either, but he never deserved the stick he was getting earlier in his city career. he cost a minimal amount and did exactly what he was supposed to do every time he represented the club which is be a foil for his strike partner. some strikers aren't out and out goal scorers. some people look at a players career goals and judge them on that but if you did that with all strikers you'd say a player like bergkamp* wasn't great as he hardly ever broke double figures in a season! *i am not in any way at all comparing wilbrahimovic with bergkamp
For the record Supers, I am not one of the 'canary callers' who boo players and give them stick. To be fair had Wilbrahamovic been given more starts he may have found his scoring boots, fact is that it was always going to be an impossible task to be picked ahead of the mighty Grolt !
I'm sure my level of pendatry is raised today, but it depends what you mean by premier league class. He is clearly able to do a job in the PL, (maybe not a wonderful job) therefore is premier league quality. There is also the issue that he has had rather limited opportunities to adapt to the demands of the PL. For me it's just that he is low in the pecking order, and that as a team we are always looking to improve a finite sized squad and therefore he will be the first one to depart, after mr Martin that is.
what i meant is we'd need a better striker to take us to the next level. i didn't word it well at all looking back and you are right longsight. 'premier league class' is a term which is nonsense - our whole squad have proven that this season - they weren't deemed premier league class before yet they were.
If I hear one more person say 'they expect Wilbraham will go at the end of the season' I am going to scream! Give the guy a ****ing break!
wilbraham - the east anglian Peter Crouch (without the robot dance). i reckon he'll score against Wigan now - Fact Fair play to the fella, He's a squad player. slightly off topic, but still loan related, Josh Dawkin has gone to Camb Utd for a month. I must admit i don't know much about him, apart from he is a young winger. Do we think he could cut it for us, or could he be leaving in the summer?
agreed. I think he could have a few more good appearances in him yet! He brings a different element to the game and it nearly worked against Man United. If he started I think he would be great. Also, ever thought about him playing alongside Jackson with his ability to hold the ball and pass it on with Jackson's pace?
