I'm sure I read somewhere yesterday that we have won over 40% of games this season, when Fox has started.

Very under-rated player even by our own fans.

Agreed - need to play Fox on Sunday and also Naughton at RB with Drury at LB. Need to keep Moses quiet on Sunday and fear he'll be too quick for Rusty. If necessary put Elliott Bennett there to counter Moses' pace.

whats wrong with his completion rate? he keeps the ball better than any other player in our squad, controls the tempo and dictates the way we play. build the team around him regardless of opposition <ok>

When he tries the long pass he gives it away too much. His game is just to sit and keep the midfield moving. If he's going to persist with attempting the defence splitting ball then he needs to up his accuracy.
Personally I think you're over rating his performances. He has started less than two thirds of the matches and he's never going to win you a game. He probably has enough control to keep you in front though.

He may lnot complete all the long passes, but what player does, When it works it;s because he does control the tempo and allows us to get into a position to attack with fluency. I think he should be the first name on the team sheet every match, but he does need a stonger player along side him to make it work even more than it already does

much as longsight has said, no player hits long passes to perfection every time! his short game is amongst the best around at the moment. a bit like scholes at united, controlling where the ball goes and which area of the field is the right way to go at any particular moment. he should be the first name on the team sheet. its not about winning you a game - he is not a player that does that - but he does dictate how well we play and that is very important.

His consistancy needs to improve for me, he had a stinker in the first half against Fulham, Leicester and quite a few others. But I agree, on his day he is international class, and is a joy to watch. But as I said on a different thread, they are all learning and not doing half bad!
Can't wait for Sunday, didn't go to Stoke (Thank you God & Marion) for saving me from that, so it's two weeks without footy, <wah>

ok, so fox played badly against leicester - so? is he not allowed to have a bad game? he's still a vital player for us and i believe he should be the lynchpin of the midfield - its not a coincidence that we tend to play better with him in the side than without

Completely agree - he makes the midfield run smoothly. I accept he can have an off game (like anyone else) but we look so much classier and a much more dangerous side going forward when he plays. If we can only have one luxury midfielder I would take Fox over Hoolahoop every time. I would take consistent pass completion and the ability to find a telling ball over Wes's moments of brilliance - we just need a quality grafter in the middle of the park to mop up possession and pass it on to Fox for distribution.

Fox is brilliant, if it were my shout him and Surman would always start, but im not as clever as Mr Lambert and whatever that man calls I'll go with he is the master and even when things go wrong id never have a swipe at him as I know he is big enough to recognise his own mistakes and learn from them, when I type it I mean it ILWT

Even if we stumble against Wigan we will make saftey very soon so lets not create false pressure!
