I'm wondering if McG has made an error letting scott mcgleish out on loan. We could have done with him yesterday IMO.

Disapointing scoreline but Mac were well set up and organised. We looked solid and the better team throughout. Thought Bolger was class and macs keeper was a ****ing superhero<grr>

Agreed. We needed someone like McGleish yesterday. If not him, then Richards
should have been on up front.
Only nitpicking though...I can see that McGhee is beginning to clear the decks.

too defensive at home against a team who were never going to threaten us. but we did have enough chances to win if it wasnt for their keeper. but another clean sheet and more evidence that mcghee knows what he is doing as if we dont concede we dont lose!

we also need a new pitch. mcghee is dying for decent football which we cant do on that pitch!

Definately need some strikers next season. This team, with 2 strikers (goal scorers!) and we could be set for a good run!

I wouldn’t say that we were toothless. We had by far the best chances and their keeper made some great saves to keep us out.

I’m not at all concerned that we aren’t beating the likes of Macclesfield.

McGhee had one priority when he came in – to stop us shipping goals and to make us hard to beat (ok – that’s two priorities!). He has done that superbly. We now defend as a team and have gone from being 82esque in our propensity to let in goals, to being one of the tightest defences in the entire football league!

This has to be the priority for this season. The best teams are built on the bedrock of a tight defence. Once you have that, you can build as an attacking force. Remember, we can’t be beaten if we don’t let in any goals.

We should have a comfortable mid-table finish this season which, 8 short weeks ago looked like a pipe dream. Next season, McGhee will be able to get his own players in, have a pre-season and get the team attacking with verve and confidence. Once this happens, we will get out of this crappy division and will attract larger gates down at the Mem.

Exciting times ahead for Gasheads. And we get to laugh at 82’s inexorable decline as an added bonus! <laugh>
