This isnt looking too clever is it, season full of promise, great attacking football, real respect across the board for our team and manager and what happens? we throw it all away!

We now face the possible embarrassment of Arsenal catching us (which is possible) as with football teams that fall away at the end of the season are caught by the teams which get the luck at the business end and it looks like were gonna fall away!

Out of the title race, arry just about to walk into the england job and i very much doubt the lads, as a group have the belief and passion to finish the season on a high.

I suspect certain players will be already thinking about leaving next season, along with arry.

This is really disheartening stuff, our season has collapsed upon our very own eyes,

All we need now is the lads to get us to a FA Cup semi final and then not show up on the day, just to give us spurs fans another kick in the balls and false hope.

dona, i just let myself believe this was a change in spurs and im gutted at the way this club just falls apart when it matters, we have some some great memories from the past two years and we have the makings of a great team, a team that can actually win the title, but whats gonna happen? all change next season and this year will go down as one of them if only seasons!

1 - season full of promise; we lost the first 2 games of the season yet are currently 3rd. <doh>
2 - Out of the title race; we were never in it.
3 - our season has collapsed upon our very own eyes; we were bottom, we are currently 3rd, our closest rivals are 4 and 7 points behind us with one of them managerless.
4 - give us spurs fans another kick in the balls and false hope; glass half empty?

Maverick, you can give all the smart ass replies and "glass half full" attempts but lets not try and act like robots here, if you're a real spurs fan with love for this club then you will be gutted.

I know most fans act like robots online, with no emotions but nows not the time.

the biggest worry for me is getting caught by the chasing pack..we make far too many excuses.....next season depends on who replaces the manager....if he leaves.

this season we have done exactly what we mock Arsenal over at around this time of year...i struggle to take positives from the last 3 matches when you include the 0-0 against Stevenage.....all this following the 5 nil thrashing of Newcastle...exactly what confidence did we take from that 5 nil match into them next 3 games...yet people expect some people to take positives over from today compared to last week..where we lost to a team which for me is inferior to Newcastle this year..

for me it is about blood, sweat and tears....and yes the ref did mess it up once for us today but ive been questioning Walker for months bout his positioning..yet hes not to blame for contributing to 3 of their goals?

its about being honest..then the problems can be pin pointed

however for the over sensitive this does not mean i don't support spurs as ill be back there on Wednesday cheering them on as will the rest of us.

I'd be very surprised if you're a Spurs fan. If you are, you're a depressing fan :D

When all this "Harry for England" stuff started I posted a comment along the lines of :
"I hope the players don't listen to this stuff and lose concentration".
I basically got howled down with don't be stupid they're professionals it shouldn't affect them.
Well in my eyes that is exactly what has happened.
Since it started the only decent performance was against Newcastle- the rest just average at best and the teamwork seems to have evaporated.
I am hopeful of a win every game but the zing seems to have gone out our play and the defence are playing like strangers.

****ing hell u lot are depressing.

We're 3rd with 11 games to go and 4 points clear of 4th and 7 clear of 5th.

We've lost to Arsenal and Man Utd not Wigan and Blackburn.

Cheer the **** up lads !!!

  10. Not by me, you didn't. I mentioned something similar on an early thread, shortly after the media circus started.

Of course it's going to affect the players, and that's exactly what we've seen. Sure, our midfield and attack looked good today, but our defence was, yet again, a shambles. Harry needs to stop dreaming of England glory and start focusing on sorting out our defence, because if we carry on like this, we'll finish below 'Pool, and that would be an utter disaster.

No HIAG I'm sure it wasn't you because everytime you poke your head up and say something it usually brings out the ratbag element.
We can't do much about the media, but Harry certainly can.
All he has to do is get them all together and tell them - sure I'm interested in the England job, but right now I'm still here and we have a job to do and lets worry about the other stuff later.
    But he probably won't.

Two defeats in a row, one expected and one not. Apart from the freak result at stoke we haven't lost to anyone outside the top 4! Let's not turn this board into the, arsenal board of a month ago! They went from suicide to guaranteed 3rd and are even going to beat ac 5-0 or 6-1 now!

We lost two in a row before and we all know what happened after!

We'll see what happens against Chelsea. But, we've now conceded 8 goals in two games against two teams that we see ourselves as equals to. Not very encouraging. We really do have to do better when it REALLY counts!

i belive we will still finish 3rd,but i don't know why we alway's fail against united, even when we've outplayed them as we did today.the defending for there 1st goal was bad,and that seemed to set the tone.we can get back to winning ways v stevenage and pick up our season from then.it must be something to do with there winning mentality against united, like thinking we're beaten the moment the first goal goes in

The performance yesterday was a relief to me. Just unlucky against a team that really knows how to get a result, without Parker, Bale and VDV. Stevenage and Everton will be on for thumpings IMO. This is not the time to lose the faith, I really think third is still on and we can look forward to to seeing the likes of Milan/Real/Bayern back at the lane.

Having looked at the run in, I see (very conservatively for us)

    1. Man Utd 92
    2. Man City 90
    3. Spurs 71
    4. Arsenal 69
    5. Chelsea 66

And that is with us losing to Chelsea, Everton and QPR and drawing with Sunderland, Bolton and Villa (sticking with preseason predictions for us - but as I said I think we can turn Everton over now).

We have only 1 more game with top 6 teams and that is with a managerless Chelsea. COYS supporters!

We play 3 top half teams in our last 11, two of which are at home. We only dropped 4 points against the bottom half teams at the halfway point in the season and got 26 points against the teams we are left to play. To be 4 points ahead of 4th at this stage is a very strong position.

i will take your advice by the time we take on Stevenage..but i expect a resounding victory..none of this..it isnt our first team crap.....we are playing Stevenage not bloody Wolves.....all this over respecting the opposition...telling us they are hungry..want to show the world that they are good footballers from the lower leagues..that should not be our excuse..that is thier excuse..we have no excuse..i expect a thumping to be handed out..im within my right as a fan to want this.

We played them off the park 1st half, which was most important, we didn't see another Goon performance. I'm not getting involved in a disallowed goal decision, Saha should have lashed it in. You can bemoan missing players too, but United had Vidic, Fletcher, Cleverley and Smalling missing. We're not good enough to challenge at the very top and thats that, but we're certainly the best of the rest imo.

Having been a Spurs fan for many years I can see where you are coming from, there have been many false dawns and too many disappointments. But I believe this Spurs team is made of sterner stuff, and I am expecting another unbeaten run starting with Stevenage on Weds.

You are over reacting saying our season has fallen apart, we outplayed Utd for 70% of that game and some how lost, thanks to some more unfavourable refereeing and poor defending, but when do we ever get any luck against Utd that isnt all bad. We had 3 key players missing and still bossed the majority of the game so we are still in good form, our luck will turn soon!
