Has surely gotta be the 1st choice CM now! He has been superb since he broke into the side at christmas, he is finally showing why he is so highly rated on a consistent basis now! No longer inconsistent - a player who can go all the way in the PL imo!

Give Cork another season to bulk up and build some body strentgh and they will be a perfect pair for central midfield.

We will still need to get a quality right sided midfielder should we end up in the PL.

He always was consistent, as i have stated for the last 3 years. All his work went under the radar, but now people are highlighting it, he is getting more eyes on him and more recognition. He is our best passer, tackler and creator. It is largely down to him that the attacking players get into the positions they do.

He had a good game yesterday, I was impressed. However, sometimes when we play Cork and Schneiderlin our midfield gets by-passed too easily.

I said all along Schneiderlin is our best CM. Sometimes we are too light weight with him and Cork but that is mainly down to Cork rather than Schneiderlin.

Exactly. Since the day we signed him he's been consistently brilliant and there have been a few of us constantly pointing this out.

I love the guy personally - was confused when we spent 7 figures on a lad with only a couple of appearances to his name at the time but it clearly worked out.

I dont think any of our midfield covered themselves in glory yesterday, most out played and out fought completely although Chappers put in a real shift as usual and got better the longer the game went on

Thought he had a great game yesterday, as usual. Class act in CM, gets stuck in, brilliant passer and a cannon of a shot when he gives it a go. I think he is possibly our most skillful player after Lallana.

Yep, I agree with a couple of the above posts. He's been this good since pretty much day one. The only difference now is that he has quality attackers in front of him, who are capable of taking advantage of what he brings to the table.

Once again find myself agreeing with JoeyB. If you know anything about football you take one look at this guy and realise he's heading for the very top. If we don't go up think we may struggle to keep hold of him.

OMG. I'm agreeing with sharpshooter and Joey B in one hit! But Joey, your assessment is absolutely spot on. A truly superb player, and we must keep him next year if we go up.

BTW Joey, I see the rumour of your demise was, like that of Mark Twain's, greatly exaggerated!

Joey is a decent player but I think you are being a bit generous there!

He's our best central midfielder certainly, but as I've said before he's not the finished article yet. I think some of you are blinded by the occasional brilliant game (reverse Guly syndrome?) and yesterday wasn't one of those let's be honest.

I'm sure he will become a consistent PL performer, is he there yet? No I don't think so.

Sounds painful!
