i think we must promote Caulker.we have been short a couple of times this season at centeback because of injury.because 2 of them are liable to injury we really need another,and ledley only really shone when a regular 1st teamer.

Nelsen's only contracted until the end of the season, I believe and I'm not sure having two crocks as backup is a good idea. With CL next season(hopefully) and King unable to play 2 games in a week regularly, it's going to put a lot of pressure on Kaboul and Dawson so we need backup that are likely to be able to play 15-20 games. It might not be the best thing for Caulker but in my totally unqualified opinion there's not a whole lot more Caulker can learn from another season at Swansea or a similar team.
 
I think Caulker definitely should return to us next season. To me he will be 3rd in line behind Kaboul and Dawson, the others are all 'yesterday's men', still with a part to play, but on the decline.
 

One was me, I introduced myself to him outside the shop before the Madrid game. Nobody else recognised him, he was genuinely pleased I asked after him and wished him a speedy recovery. A really decent lad with no airs and graces. Got a soft spot for him now and hope he does become our next main CB.

Caulker will be a good one for you guys no doubt about it and possibly at international level too.

From our perspective we've seen a player grow through the season and is more than comfortable on the ball. He is what I would class as being a typical Tottenham player, one who is better suited to a proper footballing side. It would have done him no good to go on loan to someone like Stoke but as you know we (Swansea) try to play the right way and Caulker has impressed this season and his game has been enhanced. I believe we will send him back an improved player (shame we can't keep him) but he is a real gem.

Ps, when we beat the Gooners at our place he celebrated like he'd won the World Cup, he was nearly in the crowd ! So you can see his heart is Definitley in the right place.

Think Caulker will be a starter for you next season the lads class. It did take him a little time for him to settle in with us, got caught out a couple of times.

He's not the same player now that started the season, looking very comfortable and confident on the ball now, his passing has improved 100%. Can see him having a big imact for you next season, and if you don't want him can we have him back PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that the loan was definitely a good fit for all involved.

Keep playing football the right way and good luck for the rest of the season, once Sunday's game is out of the way.
 
Harrys been talking about giving Nelson another deal! I`d rather see Caulker come back, nothing against Nelson he has done reasonably well for us but to have him and Gallas could be one old timer too many.
 
I want Nelsen to have another season with us, been impressed by him. I also want Caulker back, been impressed by him too.

I completely agree with this. What concerns me slightly, is that this is so typical of Harry's Pompey days when Fratton Park almost became a home for the aged and on their last legs professional footballers who were capable of one final swansong or payday, whichever way you liked to look at it.

Harry might need reminding this is Spurs he is manager of now, and we do not need to be giving old pros on their last legs, healthy contracts simply because they 'turn up for training every day and look bright and act professionally'. Quite frankly, Nelsen, Gallas and Ledley are too many aging crocks too many for my liking, and if young Caulker sees them in our squad next season along with a hopefully fit Michael Dawson, who can blame the lad for taking time to reconsider where his best career interests might be.
 
I'd probably out Nelsen and Gallas, personally, giving King one more shot at things, though in a reduced role. He looks to be struggling quite badly at this point of the season.
I'd hate to see him permanently crocked in a few years, just to drag out his career for a few more months.

And I agree with this also. I think this is what I would do as well, although I bet Harry doesn't !!
 
I don't think that Redknapp will be at Spurs next season though, SC.
He may even take over the England job for the Euros, given the current pressure that the media's generating to get someone in now.
 
Nelson has done a good job for us. Harry also has said that he wants Nelson around the club because he is a perfect pro and sets a good example to the younger lads. I don't think it's for any of us to deny the importance of these considerations.

As for Caulker, I'm sure that he will get his chance, if he keeps doing what he's been doing.

If he wants him at the club, that certainly spells the end for Bassong's career at WHL. Also, isn't Gallas' contract up at the end of the season?
 
Personally, I'd rather nurture Caulker than try to keep hold of Bassong. Not that I think Bassong is a bad player, as he's done a reasonable job for us, it's that I think our future lies with Caulker, and we should be giving him his run in the first XI over the next couple of seasons.

Gallas is probably still a better player than Caulker, so I wouldn't necessarily play Caulker ahead of a fit Gallas. But how many more games has Gallas got in him, at this level?
 
Not sure how true this sort of thing is, but on FM Nelsen becomes a great youth coach when he retired with me, so I'd consider giving him a player/coaching role, just for backup next season, before offering him a coaching deal full time.
