With the day fast approaching I was just wondering what my fellow Rss were doing on the 17th March to celebrate the day, if anything at all, seeing as we arent playing that weekend? Seeing as my Father is Irish, which I suppose makes me 50% Irish. We will be spending the day watching the egg chacers at Twickenham for the Eng Vs Ireland game. This is my first experience of watching the egg chacers live (Not that im planning on remembering much of it if truth me told.) Fortunately in rugby the opposing fans can sit near one another. Doubt my Dad would hear me hurling abuse at him half way across Twickenham.
South you are a very lucky man to be half Irish but not as lucky as me because I am 100% Irish and even luckier coming from the kingdom of Kerry.
Haha, so you'll be cheering on the Egg chacers in green then Dens. I think a top day will be had by all in truth with the amount of Guiness that will be flowing.
A good days craic in my local pub watching the all Ireland club football final, then watch Ireland hammer England, safe in the knowledge that the hoops wont get beat!!
Irish Rs - are there any big sporting events on at Croke Park in August? I am a part of a bunch which usually has a weekend in Edinburgh in November, drinking Guiness and catching a Hibs game. However this has got so depressing that we fancied a change this year and also fancied not freezing our bollocks off. So Dublin a favored destination but we need some sporting event to continue drinking in the fresh air for a bit.....
You lucky bugger South, tickets for Twickers are like gold dust unless you pay an arm and a leg for a 'package'...
The only smile I got last week was when England got beat in the union and I thought of all the fulham fans having some lustre removed from their win over us. Actually that's not strictly true, as I enjoyed the T20 win in the cricket, but there's not much enjoyment going on at the moment sports wise
Cheers Ciarrai. Really impressed on how well used Croke Park is. Wembley and Twickenham don't get half that between them
Off to the Irish club in Brisbane with my paddy mates , starting the proceedings off with a full Irish washed down with the black stuff. If I'm still standing by the end of the day then my party piece.( A 17st hairy arsed Rs fan doing an Irish jig won't be a pretty site, especially after umpteen pints of Guinness down my Gregory ) Stand clear everyone !!!!
Heading to an Irish Ball wit da wife in Beirut. Free drink and food all night. Evening starts with the big rugby match and ends when the manager kicks us out for scrumming with the local Lebanese in the reception about 6am. Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee PS. The irish might even win that scrum!!!!!!!
