Anyone seen a copy of the Sun today?...unbelievable, there again perhaps not!. The last 3 back pages devoted basically to slating Pearce and championing Harry. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...napp-has-just-four-weeks-to-save-England.html I keep saying this needs clarifying for the good of the club.
I think it's from The Mirror. According to the Mirror, the FA thinks Harry still wants the job, but may not want to take over until after The Euros. How much truth there is in that - who knows.
I think the FA's recent statement about their silence "out of respect for clubs and their managers", is actually having the opposite effect for us. I did smile at the photoshop in the Suns article though!
if harry does want the job but not till after the euro's that will really F... next season up as regards pre-season,on the bright side If Modric won't sign a new contract till he know's what harry's doing,it might be to late for a transfer if harry's gone, the window might have closed
That Harry has not come out and ruled himself out of the England job is proof enough that he's still considering it. I have no doubts that Levy and the board will be working behind the scenes to do everything they can to keep him, including improving his contract, and I am sure that the players will be making it quite clear that they don't want him to leave. So, whilst I do not doubt that Harry is still considering the job, I do not, for one moment, believe that it is a foregone conclusion that he will leave.
If he is to take the job then he needs to go at the end of the season and not at the beginning of the new one!
Or he could just be playing the situation for a new contract with improved terms. Think back a few seasons when there was talk of John Terry moving to Man City. He never said anything to confirm or deny his interest in leaving Chelsea, and allowed the story to circulate for a few days before - surprise surprise - his weekly wage improved by £50k per week. Wayne Rooney did the same last season for his own benefit, although in that case there was a slight possibility of him leaving.
