The first half was Utd's no doubt, until the dying minutes when Lampard scored.

The second half was ours with no question.

    Extra time was anybodys.

Drogba is still a **** for getting sent off.

Anelka was the one who actually missed the penalty that cost us the game, but JT's miss didn't help.

I am going into hiding around these two games as I technically live in the Metropolitan borough of Stockport, which is more City than Utd, but my neighbours are cun...I mean Utd fans...

Of course we could. Considering last season Inter won a treble, the season before Barcelona won a treble and the season before we won the double. It simply isnt as good. Granted you wont care but you wont be in the same leagues as the great winners.

Also, never count your games in hand......considering your season.

I 100% agree we would not be considered 'great' winners like Barca 2009 (albeit they shouldn't have even been in the final). That's not the point, you said 'if you win it this season, it will be the biggest embarrassment to world football since Liverpool in 2005'. This you cant justify.

Closest either team came to a winner? Did you miss Terry's desparate lunges to keep Giggs out with Cech beaten both times? You can talk all you like about coming close, the fact is United were the only team to score a goal that required no luck at all, just the quality skills of Wes Brown...

I will reserve my right to wear bias blue coloured goggles!!

It was a great final to be fair and neither team deserved to lose it. However, such disappointment must be used to spur on this campaign especially as we now have you.

Both teams have so many players from the 2008 final, the difference at United is the manager is the same aswell and he will be able to get his players ready for the game using the 2008 final than carlo will at chelsea imo.

Obviously Terry will be vocal and get players pumped up.

I think chelsea fans need to know this season for United ( both the team and fans ) want the league title more than anything else. Number 19 is the primary objective and everything else is just a bonus. We dont expect the champions league and if we go out it will be disappointing but will be forgotten by the end of the night. Any other season it would be much harder to take but we have our collective eyes on that 19th title and over taking liverpool.

however, whoever wins this game has a great chance to win......its likely that barcelona and real will face each other in the other semi final and an English spanish final looks likely.....

    united v Madrid ( ronaldo factor )
    Chelsea v Madrid ( mourinho factor )
    Chelsea v Barcelona ( unfinished business )
Man United v barcelona ( rebalancing the books )

If we cant the league (which we wont), we will at least take some confort in you taking a slice of Liverpools 'history' with the 19th.

Them 4 finals all look pretty tasty, would love a madrid / chelsea. Least we can assume spurs wont get there, which would have been unbearable.

It was a very good final, and I agree neither team really deserved to lose. For all the jokes about Terry, I did feel for him after missing his penalty. But I wonder how many Chelsea fans would have felt the same for Ronaldo had Terry scored...

To be honest, with Chelsea's desparation to win the competition, and Utd being focused on number 19 and possibly the FA Cup as well, I think Chelsea are more likely to go through over two legs. Probably something like 1-0 Chelsea at SB, 2-1 Utd at OT.

Brown to Scholes, back to Brown, beautiful cross to the back post and there's Ronaldooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brown was pretty good back then, before he got injured and had surgery around November 08. England's first choice right back ahead of Glenda. Not that I'm complaining of course, that let Rafael come through and develop as well as he has.

Now we've put those possibilities out there, the actual final is bound to end up being Schalke vs Shaktar! <laugh>
