I don't know what is wrong with you lot. if we don't win all six games and score at least 2o goals in doing so, then paul Lambert should be sacked, lets face it they are all ****e compared to the mighty canaries. Having said that this can only happen if we get rid of that fat twat Holt NB: The best way to deal with idiotic posts is to not reply to them. lets practice this in case we get another Comas on the board.
i agree. i had them down as a loss. I think wigan are going to put a good run together now. Theyve got experience of the relegation scrap, and i think it'll show soon.
because anyone who went to wigan on the opening day of the season will tell you that they have plenty enough about them to give us serious problems, just as ALL teams in this league have. it grates me enormously that fans assume we will beat teams like wigan - if the players go out with that attitude they will get beaten. when fans turn up with a lethargic attitude, like the donny game dave mentions above, it transposes to the players, the atmosphere becomes muted, people get frustrated on the pitch and in the stands... every fan and every player should treat every game the same in my opinion. nothing is won until the final whistle is blown.
and that was with Donny trying to call the game off due to 11 first team injuries, and 4 straight defeats before us. just watched the highlights. My god there was a lot of space to play in! looks like a 5 a side match!
agreed 100%. was just posting on qprs board, saying that their comments about their 'red cards costing them 7-9 points' being disrespectful to the teams they were playing, who all had the potential to beat an 11 man QPR side.
if we approach the Wigan game like the bolton one, which was also seen as a home banker, then we will be ok. i agree they have some dangerous players like Moses, and they seem to have firmed up their defence a bit, which was leaking goals before. We will win either the Wolves or Wigan game imo.
i'm not suggesting for one minute that we won't beat them, i'm saying its wrong to expect to win! if we play at our best and they play at their best, we'll probably win, but football doesn't work like that very often...
To be fair, I don't think anyone is assuming. I think expectation is the word. Despite their history of scrapping, if we play as well as we did yesterday and as we can, we should expect to beat them. The points total of both teams indicates that.
but you can't deny that there is an element of our support who turn up expecting to wipe the floor with teams such as wigan. i hate these people - they should have more respect for a team who has spent far, far longer in the premier league than we have.
I don't give a monkeys, they just better finish in the top half! Placed a bet in June 2011 with Willaim Hill, £40 @ 17/2. I will win £340 if city can kick on. OTBC
incidentally the only teams to have got more points in their last six games than us, are both in manchester. Pretty good company no?
I went to the wigan game at the beginning of the season and as it was our first game in the league, you definatly could see the step up! BUT looking back at that game, you can see why there at the bottom end! We were new to this and everyone had no experiance of what was about to unfold. go forward 7 months and we are now expecianced in this league and wigan seem to be set in the same mind set as that game. I am though expecting a tough game, as is any in this league but if we do approach this game like the bolton and not the blackburn game then we will be fine! One thing i will say, people mention that wigan are use to getting out of it come the end of the season and usually put a run together BUT so many of there usuall performers are not performing anywhere near there standard this season ie rodellega and they havent got n'zogbia like last season and these were the 2 players really why they did survive last year! I believe there luck will have finally run out this season...
1) A loss, but a slight chance of a draw. If we have Whitbred still fit that is, because he is by far our best defender in the air. 2) No disrespect to Wigan, and no easy games in this league but we should be targeting this for a win. Wigan will definatley not roll over for us however. 3) Probably a loss. And why not, Newcastle are a very good side. 4) A win or a draw. No idea what you're going to get when you play Wolves, but if we play our best we should win. 5) A loss or draw here, but most likely the former. Fullham are decent without pulling up any trees and at home they'll probably be too much for us. 6) Who knows? But as an optimist I'd say we can beat Everton at home. So I'll go for 9 or 10 points.
I reckon we'll get 7/8 points. It goes without saying we'll win one we're not expecting to, probably Newcastle and snatch a late draw in one we're expecting to win, probably Wolves Stoke - draw 1 Wigan - win 4 Newcastle - win 7 Wolves - draw 8 Fulham - lose 8 Everton - lose 8
stoke away: draw wigan home: draw newcastle away: lose wolves home: win fulham away: draw everton home: lose 6 points for me and that would see us over the 40.
