sorry to cover more jordan ground but you lads get to see him play live, so im gonna seek your opinions on this and bow down to your first hand knowledge.
young jordan has been getting a bit of a rough time on here, with many saying his lack off form is down to him playing c/m, this may be true at the moment, but do you think one day he will grow into that position or is he destined to always be a wide player only, i only ask this as if he could adapt to the c/m role it would open up a lot of options,
in an earlier post i asked about downing, love to see him at safc,
but if jordan could make a c/m then what about adam johnston r/w,
how great would that be for the club
    downing catts henderson johnson
all NE lads and great for england to

Honestly don't think he has it in his armoury mate, he's not the type of player that suits centre mid for me. I've only ever seen him commit to 2 50/50 tackles and he won one lost one, the one he lost was half hearted as well.

The kids got talent in abundance without doubt but i think his best position is wide right.

the worrying thing is that henderson thinks central midfield is his best position

Got to agree with welder on this one, I think that RW is his best position and that's what he should be pushing for with SB. Not sure about you lot but I'd rather have a strong RW and weak CM than a weak RW and CM. His tackling or lack of is a worry something he needs to work on his passing from CM is woeful can't remember him stringing two good incisive passes together in any game, out on the wing he goes past players with relative ease and doesn't need to worry about tackling too much and passing is usually a cross. Happy he has said he will stay with us next season as he will improve hopefully on the wing.

Never. You need someone who can put a tackle in in CM. Jordan couldn't tackle for jelly. He should be on the wing, or on the bench.

as said by others on here, he's not physical enough for central midfield. also, arguably, he lacks the awareness and quickness of thought, at least on a consistent basis, that the very best central midfielders have, imo.

You also need to remember that he has been ever present this season and now looks a bit jaded, could definitely do with a rest which might happen soon as Catts is almost back. Then we should see what the kid can do.

I don't agree with this “he has been ever present" "he's young and needs a resting" crap.

He not a ****ing kid; that has to be the most disrespectful and condescending way you can describe him - if you'd called me that when I was his age I would have swam all the way from New Zealand ripped your head off (I've probably called him it myself mind).
He is a professional football & a young man; he should be able to run everyone into the ground, he should have enough about him mentally to cope.
He should be full of ****ing energy, like a dog with two cocks.
The only thing that he should be short of is polish to his technique and skill.

He is a good footballer and WILL be a better one. He’s not a kid and should be able to play every game in a season.

There again that’s just my opinion.

for whatever reason hes gone of the boil, perhaps its just loss of form, he will regain this and have a bright future, but 73 got to agree with you about fitness and him being a young lad, **** me they have to perform 90 minutes a week surely no hardship.
can just see the lads in afghanistan now,
sgt, right lads tomorrow we are going after these taliban ****ers we may be out a while
private henderson, oh sarge feeling a bit tired can't you get someone else to do it
sgt, ???? i'll leave that up to your imagination????????

young jordan is just having a dip in form, no more

I agree to an extent mate, he's young and should be able to run rings round the rest week in week out. The modern game puts a massive demands on a players stamina and centre mid is arguable the most demanding position on the pitch. Without looking at the stats, I doubt there is another Sunderland player who has played more games this season? off the top of my head i would guess Bardsley.

My point was, is, that the kid looks jaded for whatever reason and IMO needs a rest but he's just had 2 weeks so lets see how he gets on against Liverpool. I guarantee he will run out of steam after 75 minutes.

If he does run out of steam after 75 mins it will certainly give his doubters the bullets they want especially after a two week break.
I don’t mind if he’s having a bad spell, he just needs to keep plugging away, keep the work rate up and things will click again

Im with Mackemwelder with this his best position is wide right. He has plenty of talent but doesn't cut it in CM, For me rather than everybody jumping on the lads back whenever he makes a slightest mistake, why not get behind him and offer support, we all want him to fulfil his potential and help SAFC achieve our goal of being in europe one day so lets get behind the lads starting with the Liverpool game.
