Watching that performance city first half looked dangerous. Stead was back to his best and I hope got MOM. Blackpool are a class act and ripped us apart second half. There class shone through ,with young ince and the old head of Philips we had no idea how to contain them. We just don't look like we can put the ball in the net. Goals win games,we have lost the last six or seven on the trott. March look at those sides we need to play, can anybody honestly say we are going to get the points to stay up. Personally think this will bring the dreaded drop. Forest and Coventry both won, donny draw, these teams are picking up points. The new stadium is not a priority with 8000 to 10000 crowds in league 1. Sadly I can only see us heading one way and that is out of the championship to league 1 and games at Yeovil,Bournemouth etc.
I agree. DM can't motivate these players which is worrying. Stead was a class act and I've always held him in high regard. It is beyond belief that he hasn't been picked until now. Defensively we are woeful. Spence is ****ing awful IMO. I'd be recalling Ribs asap!
My brother is in corparate with John Stead at this moment,I just texted him a message which said ,if every city player played like John Stead today city would not be in the mess it is. I said tell him that was a top performance.
He's always given his all in a City shirt and when u compare him and Wood there's no comparison. We missed him last season when he injured his ankle and we have missed him this season. I only want players who will play for the shirt and Stead is number one in that regard.
Del obviously prefers players that were leaving i.e Maynard, yet JS and BP who are likely to score goals don't get a run.obvoiusly we don't know what goes on behind the scenes but from what us fans see on the pitch they are by far our best chance of scoring goals.
I think City have looked dangerous enough going forward. I didn't understand the hype about us not having enough strikers when both Pitman and Stead haven't been playing as much as they'd like/should, when it's clear the problems lie at the other end of the pitch. We haven't kept a clean sheet since the start of January and have shipped 14 goals in the last 5. Goals may win games, but there's no value in scoring 2 if you concede 3. When we reached the playoff final we were grinding out 1-0 wins and we need to find a way of doing that again. Unfortunately the priority of signing a strong, experienced centre defender was either ignored or unsuccessful in January. I won't say relegation is a certainty, just that it seems more likely than not. Haven't made my mind up on McInnes yet, but all managers deserve the chance to put together their own squad, so even if we go down I don't think he should be sacked.
Blackpoolcertainly showed us how to keep the ball on the floor and attack quickly by passing the ball around. We seem slow at supporting players on the ball. I also thought we sat back too deep after the goal and although we did at times look dangerous going forwrad (Wood should have scored the second) we were too easily opened up by neat quick passing and movement off the ball. I'm afraid that I can see relegation looming but you never know one win might set us off on a run? bring on Leicester and Cardiff????????
i dont think we are capable of winning at the moment. Although it has been 3 years in the making, today has set us back 3 years at least
I thought on more than one occasion our players were second to the loose ball in the middle, when Blackpool got the ball they just passed and passed the ball. Second half the just went through us at will.
We are in danger, the fat bitch is gargling but has not found her voice yet. 44 points may just be enough, can we find them? There are a lot of games to go, and McManus is back. Him and Davies are crucial, two wins in the next 5 would put a lot of pressure on those around us. We are on life support, but not quite dead yet.
Keep an eye on that goal difference. Long before the end of last season I said that we(Rovers) were going down because stats showed that, not unsurprisingly, the team with the worst goal difference ALWAYS went down. At the moment yours is -24, and only Doncasters is worse at -25.
I cant believe how bad you are. Shame we have left it so late ourselves this season as a league one battle would have definately been on next season
"I cant believe how bad you are. Shame we have left it so late ourselves this season as a league one battle would have definately been on next season" Yea if we do get relegated we will have to live with the fact that we are only one league above you! God it must hurt you to know we are ****e but still miles in front of you!
Hardly miles banksy, we may even make the play-offs yet (though very very unlikely admittedly), but if you go down, that is where you will stay for many a year. We may get out of this league at some point in the next 10 years (though knowing us, that is unlikely also)
In your deluded minds. You're ****ing shocking. Really poor. I honestly reckon that the way McGhee sets us up defensively we could keep your shambles at bay. I mean, underr McGhee we kept Crawley out - something you bunch of ****wits couldn't achieve Seriously though, right now there's not a lot between us. Yes, you're that bad Bristol ****ing City!
