I thought it was too much at the time... I'm much happier with Fonte and Hooiveld than I would have been with Mills and St. Ledger.

And our centre-back pairing cost less, good work NA and NC, and LR (who seems not to get much notice).

We don't need him. He wouldn't dislodge either Fonte or Hooiveld and Martin has proved he can be called upon when required. Mills wouldn't even get on the bench at Saints

    He's certainly not worth a £5m fee and his £40k p/w wages.

He should have stayed at Reading! Less wages but a much better chance of PL football next season

I think he would have stayed at Reading if he could see into the future. Reading are well set for promotion, if not this year then the next and they have an ambitious Russian owner. Leicester on the other hand, have had a poor season and imo they will struggle to get out of this league.

I can see them having a real pop at getting into the P/O's, & if they do, well I wouldn't want us to face them, they are improving as the weeks pass.

im not saying we should sign him as we shouldn't but he's hardly a has been when he's like 26 years old and wasn't such a money grabber he'd be playing premier league football this season.

Matt Mills is a class act, possibly the best centre back in the league along with Jos, Fonte and Tomkins. Too say he wouldn't get on our bench is ridiculous.

Well he wouldn't - Martin doesn't deserve to get dropped from the bench

Please tell me you're joking RE Martin, aka the most over rated player to ever pull on the Saints shirt.

FFS not another anti-Martin fan. WTF has Martin done? He has played well in most of the games he has played in. So no, I am NOT joking

Apart from be a terrible defender, nothing. Yes he can win the ball in the area but apart from that he's a complete donkey. If he wasn't local he'd be another Harding/Seaborne (who is actually a much, much better defender, hence why Adkins always chose him over Martin)

Would you care to explain then, why Martin started the opening game against Leeds (and played well) instead of Seabourne?
