Is it just me or do Ferrari always do more laps when Massa is in the car

My rough chart here has the laps for the top 3. It goes Massa, Massa, Alonso, Alonso, Alonso, Alonso.
Massa does seem likely to beat Alonso's lap times today, then again Alonso had problems in Jerez.

13:28 Remember that old saying; if something looks too good to be true, it probably is? Well strike off that Petrov time. There's an error with the timing system here in Barcelona.

yeah, but consider Williams were fastest last year, so the reality is we gain no insight at all. It would be interesting to see what happens if Mercedes end up with the slowest of the Mercedes powered cars. If you consider 4 years ago Force India were Midland/Spyker back of the grid HRT style, each year they've improved slightly
I bet all the other teams know roughly how fast each other are. The McLaren boys are talking up their chances, and Vettel seems to think McLaren are going to be on pace from the start, if anyone is going to have a car that is all dominant I hope it's McLaren as at least we'll have a team-mate battle for the title than a walk over.

Lol, I remember there was a big timing error in my F12009 game a while back. I was constantly lapping in the low 1m 26s (yes that's insanely fast) and then all of a sudden Raikkonen does the last sector in two seconds and blows my time away! :p

Off-topic here, but I'm heading to the Bathurst 12-hour endurance race in two days. But it's a five-hour drive and I need some good driving road-trip music. Any suggestions?

I seem to recall that it was a similar question from Bergy that kicked off the whole off-topic discussion, resulting in DHC's The Pits, in the first place.

Looks like today is Schumacher's turn to prove he has the manliest neck. 122 laps and counting.

    Bodes well: http://bbs.hellof1.com/3292607.html

Interesting point about Vettel being able to follow so close behind Hamilton. Perhaps the cars are more oversteery due to the loss of rear grip and therefore aren't affected as badly in turbulent air when they lose a bit of front downforce. Could encourage more wheel to wheel racing <diva>, if DRS doesn't ruin it. <grr>

Another poor day for Caterham. 57 laps for Petrov.

Well the car looked reliable in Jerez, and Kovalainen racked up the laps there, so I don't think reliability is necessarily an issue, but I'm worried by the pace. If they weren't trying to get a lot of laps done, I would have expected some faster laps, and they look pretty slow at the moment. I'd love to be proved wrong, but I don't think they'll be joining the midfield in Melbourne.

66 laps is the race distance in Barcelona so I would have thought they would complete that at least. I don't see what they can gather from a week in Jerez because Catalunya is ideal for aerodynamics and downforce and it's on the calender.

Maybe thats why they've done less running? Jerez was good for the initial shakedown of the car, and looking for any obvious problems. Then in Barcelona they can target their work a bit more, doing more specific tests and not worrying about lap times? Equally though, I'd still agree that the more running the better at this stage.
