Joey Barton has posted a pic of him with the new England kit on twitter .... check out the one in the background though. Do you reckon that will be ours next season? http://yfrog.com/z/esjtbirj
The kit in the background is sponsored by Umbro. So unless we're striking a deal with them, I'd be very surprised
Its lottos last year but I really, really hope we dont get umbro, they make the worst kits out there.
It looks a load of rubbish to me they should have gone down to Sports Direct in Sutton they have loads of white polo shirts there England should be sponsored by Lonsdale they could buy a load in bulk then I noticed that QPR shirts are only £30 in there as well .
I disagree, even without our appalling sponsor the kits adidas have given us for the last couple of years have been far worse than the ones Umbro gave us. They can't even manage to make the amber stripes the same colour as the plain amber parts.
Dont you have a customer agreement with them rather than them paying you to wear them? We are the only team in the UK to be paid to use Lotto kits yet others like Barnsley used them but got them off the shelf.
You seem very sure Cerny ? I tweeted JB but he hasn't replied to me ... you had any response from him? I can't imagine what else he would be doing there
Lotto have 1 more season. I wouldn't expect any negotiation with a future kit maker until early 2013.
no way umbro new retro stuff is really nice. i think if tony is still around to orginise the next kit he will be picking addidas or nike. it will give us a bigger world market
I doubt it, we did the deal while we were still in the PL, and it was after the crooked chairman had left. Given the finances we'd have taken a 'worse' supplier in order to have them paying us rather us paying them.
But wouldnt he have made the club pay them if he took a backhander from them, he and the supplier do well and the club suffers as usual. Umbro are hideous, especially the retro stuff, the England kits have been a monstrosity. Kits should never have a collar, they just annoy the wearer and serve no purpose.
I agree. I think we should go for something more up-market and original. Paul Smith or Dolce & Gabanna.... or this...........................................
It's the closest Barton is going to get to an England shirt. Did he nick it after the photo? <can'ttrustascousersmiley>
It was after he'd left. The interim chairman, who's now Director of Football would have taken the deal that made the most money for the club because he was in the process of trying to rescue the club financially. They've been absolutely terrible kits though. Last season's kits, the material was so poor that if I'd found them on a market stall I'd have walked past them thinking I'd find better quality knock offs somewhere else. The "striped" shirt looked like the front was from one shirt and the back was from a plain shirt. The away kit had amber stripes that came down the sleeves, and then a loop went round the FL badge before the stripes continued. They somehow managed to make the loop around the FL badge a different colour to the stripes. This season the club apologised for the design before they even revealed the kits, saying the previous owner had chosen them before we were taken over (The old owner employed the crooked chairman, then the good chairman who did the deal with adidas, then became chairman himself and chose this kit). The colour matching is an even bigger problem with it as well, which wasn't evident from the original design. http://www.thisishullandeastriding....es/275786/Article/images/15119702/3516540.png I'd go as far as far as to say I'd have Umbro back in a heartbeat, even if it meant having that stupid collar the new England kit has that makes it look like a Sean Bean has stepped off the set of Sharpe, taken his military jacket off and stuck the badge onto the shirt he had underneath.
Mind you, Lottos choice for a kit was laughed out of Loftus Road, we told them it was unacceptable and then they had to come back with the current one. Thats why I was thinking yours was a customer deal like Derbys or Peterboros are.
See the club has slashed the shirt price down to £30 .. i was pissed off as at the Sunderland game I had to buy 6 shirts then found them at £30 in Sutton I expect them to be £15 now at Sports Direct
