Just reading the latest Chelsea article on BBC and noticed that they had put up AVB's signings since he has been at Chelsea.

    Villas-Boas's Chelsea signings
    Juan Mata, Valencia £23.5m
    Romelu Lukaku, Anderlecht £20m
    Raul Meireles, Liverpool £12m
Thibaut Courtois, Racing Genk, undisclosed fee reported to be £7.9m
    Gary Cahill, Bolton , £7m
    Kevin De Bruyne, Genk, £6.7m
    Oriol Romeu, Barcelona £4.35m
Ulises Davila, Guadalajara, undisclosed fee reported to be £1.75m
Patrick Bamford, Nottingham Forest, undisclosed fee reported to be £1.5m

I have been on the bandwagon of disagreeing with what team AVB has been putting out and the style of which we are playing, but the above list of players opened my eyes a little.

I knew of all the above signings but it never really hit me until it was listed in this way. It is clear that Andre is thinking for the future, although loaning some of the players back and the others being kept in the Ressies I do think that he has the best intentions at heart.

The dislike at the moment is purely based on the present, I have been pretty ignorant in the way I have viewed the manager.

Maybe all Chelsea fans like myself who are looking at the current situation should look down the line in a couple of seasons time.

    Thoughts?

Not all AVB signings though. He has openly admitted De Bruyne was not his signing and I think we can assume the same for at least Lukaku, Courtois, Davila and Bamford. These were probably signings put through by the scouts and gourlay etc.

You seriously think Gourlay has input in to what youth players we sign?
    You're nuts mate.

    Sorry bob.

Yes I agree with what you're saying but the majority of us here are on the same wavelength in that we like the vision AVB has for Chelsea in the future but he's ****ing it up now with lack of motivation and highly noticeable tactical ineptitudes such as bringing on/starting Malouda and Bosingwa over promising youth players and that grinds my gears <grr>

I agree with you in the tactical sense.

I think we are going to expect the same tonight, he will take off a playmaker for a defensive midfielder at around 68minutes tonight (quote me on this!) for someone who is there to add a defensive impact, he'll probably do this even if we are 1-0 down!

Torres will come on with around 7 minutes to go which will prove no impact whatsoever.

Malouda will come on for Mata or Sturridge which again will just be such a waste

I can even see Lamps not getting any minutes tonight which baffles me.

Would LOVE to see Piazon break through for a appearance but obviously not in this game for obvious reasons.

I spoke to my mate the other day and we discussed that our love for the team that is there every year just isn't there at the moment for us...

ok maybe not gourlay but the point being that a lot of the players we've signed in the last couple of windows have been long term targets and nothing to do with AVB.

Good luck with the financial fair play rules if £80m in two windows is going to be the norm - you didn't recoup much in sales did you?

It only counts from July last year and we have a few months left in this one, but thanks for your concern.

I think AVB has to be congratulated on his signings. Most will become PL legends in their time. Its the Special one's signings we need to worry about! All heroes in their time and deserve a place in the Hall of Fame!,but their time is up and they must get used to the idea of passing up their places gracefully!

When you consider that Cahill, De Bruyne and Bamford were not AVB's, He hasn't done too bad.

All of AVBs' signings look good.
Whoever Cahills ' was ............. Looks pretty ordinary to me when faced against decent attack. Watching Napoli game, holy mackerel, our defenders just seem incapable of staying in a line. Coles been on 3 mins and has been done twice, Brana got caught out for 2nd goal, though Cahill is leaving huge spaces, that Brana is trying to fill. Luiz as usual is going very well. Merieles off, Romeu on, we need some defence in front of back 4.
