If we are talking recent history (20 yrs) then surely dropping into the 3rd tier of English football has to have a negative score set against it..?

Hey, we won a trophy more recently than you - thanks to our quick detour down to League One on our way to the Premier League.

To be totally honest, the one thing it did show us was the number of 'real, genuine' fans that support the lower leagues! It was quite refreshing!

Agree with Canary Dave there, met some real 'support my club through thick and thin' hardcore fans.

one things for sure, the majority of fans in league one are a million times better than those big clubs in the premier league!

To be quite honest I think well done to Ipswich if they have been more successful than us and in terms of the bigger trophies they have been. I'm pleased for their supporters as they love their club as much as we love ours. Even though the are the "auld enemy" I wish they were up in the Prem with us, and Southend, Colchester, MKDons, Cambridge, Northampton etc as well. Of course we would want to do the double over the lot of them if they were but thats only natural.
It would be brilliant if the East of England ruled instead of the usual North West or London. Look at poor old Yorkshire. All them clubs and not one in the Prem.

I think this thread has proved one thing and thats if Hypocricisy (excuse the spelling) was worthy of points then the Budgies are definately in the Barcelona bracket.

    Top Man Redruth! <applause>

Agree with all of that! Ipswich and Norwich share what I would describe as a more friendly rivalry and not based on just pure hatred. Ever since I started supporting Town in 1973 I have only known friendly rivalry between us sets of fans. Yes there have been a few morons on either side but as a whole we seem to share some mutual respect! Mr John and Sir Bobby would never have tolerated anything else! <ok>
