Pleased to see him score two for Palace, I would like to see him back as I think he offers something a bit different we have Holt and Morison (leave him alone he will be fine, he has stepped up a big way and needs time to adjust!) and Vaughan and Jackson I think Chris used to give a damn good alternative to Wes at the top of the diamond from time to time being a bit more direct and not trying to pass the ball into the net. Would be good to have his abilities on the bench again>

Whatever I wish him well but would love to see him back in our squad!<ok>

I dunno. If he went I'd wish him the best but I always think he can do a job for us.

He's a very intelligent player and finishes like a pro. Attitude? Yes, but nothing on a scale of other players.

Up to lambert and chrissy in the summer I guess. I rate him though and I'd have him in next years 25 if he wants to stay.

do you think it would be doing him a disservice if we kept him? i just can't see where he fits in anymore and he will want to play regularly - he isn't a kid anymore! i think it would be best for him and us if he leaves in the summer. i'd say he hasn't ever quite fulfilled his potential with us and palace seems a good fit for him. i reckon we could get £1m for him <ok>

I believe we will be after another striker or 2 in the summer and obviously someone is going to have to for go there place in the squad and I believe chris maybe one of them.

He scored 2 goals against one of the weaker teams in the Championship making it 5 goals in 15 games for Palace - hardly earth shattering!! What was his scoring record for us in the Premiership or, for that matter, in the Championship? He gives us nothing whatsoever and is not worth a place in our squad. Players come in and so others have to leave especially if they can't step up to the new level. We had all this with Cody MacDonald - please remind me how well he has done for Coventry!!

Plus he lives in Beccles so wouldn't have far to travel to Lowestoft Town!

you seem to forget his brilliance at free kicks, I was amazed at the one he scored against Leeds we currently do not have anyone who can do that as well, maybe he would bottle it in the PL but would have loved to see him get a longer go at it.

Im sure he will go but think he would be very well placed on our bench to give options, see what you are saying about Howson lets hope we see him soon am looking forward to him gracing the pitch in a yellow shirt

jarold, I´m with the`probably not quite good enough` brigade. I don´t think he´s come on in the same way as some of the others from the League 1 days, in fact he didn´t really impress even at Championship level, and is still hardly doing so with Palace. Better off where he is in my opinion, with much more chance of a regular, or at least semi-regular place.

In the Premier league you can only be in the squad for what you do over 90 mins not for a few flashes. Simon Lappin is the best crosser of the ball from dead ball situations - do we play him as well because of that? I'm sorry if I come over as being harsh but over 90 mins he has only added to the side when we were in Div 1. His record in the Championship is not impressive and his few efforts in the Premiership were poor. He is like Cody - can score for fun in a lower league, will struggle in the Championship and will never get a game in the Premiership. Like Cody he is not a kid anymore and in a limited squad of 25 you cannot carry anyone in the vain hope that he will improve out of all recognition. We had all this ' hang on and give him a chance ' nonsense with Cody. Coventry gave him a chance - anyone else noticed what has happened to him and that is in the Championship.

i think you are being a tad harsh on martin 1950. he's a good player but ultimately you are correct - he isn't going to be good enough for us so why keep him? its detrimental to us to have a player on decent wages who isn't going to be used much and its detrimental to his career to not be playing at his age. palace would be a great move for him in my opinion. i never quite understood the furore surrounding cody mac by the way... though if coventry keep him i think he'll score goals in league one next season <ok>
