It would be wrong of me to say that the league is over... because its not... Well, actually it is... more less but its not really... but I think it is... Anyways, the point is, why dont we introduce a bit of squad rotation towards the end of the season to give everyone in the club the opportunity to play SPL football. The likes of Ki, Commons, Juarez, McCourt, Rasmussen, Brozek, Lustig (when fit), Ibrahim, McGeoch and the Twardzicks all deserve an opportunity before the end of the season to prove they are good enough to play for the club. What I'm NOT saying is that we change the entire team every game... that would be silly. What I am saying is that we bring one or two of these guys in for some easier games (on paper) but keep the core of the team in tact. It would make sense to test some new ideas out and see whether they can make the cut. We have already seen that Commons, Ki and McCourt are good enough (on their day) but it would be interesting to see if any of the other 'squad' players can get a run in the team and build up a bit of confidence. What do you guys think?
I don't think Rasmussen is gonna get a go at all. I'd secure the title before doing that. Momentum is the thing and there is bound to be some tenseness before we get over the line. After that, the pressure is off everyone around the club, including fringe players can play with freedom.
I think Brozek will get a few appearances as a sub but you might be right about Rasmussen. We have already given some of the other guys a go so I dont see why we shouldnt give them another opportunity. If it doesnt work, fair enough, we go back to playing our strongest team. If it does work, then we build a bit of confidence up amongst the squad and create more competition for places. Either way, we will know how good our squad actually is and could potentially unearth some talent as a result of confidence
Hmm, part of me agrees but i'll be honest and state that I don't want ANY slip ups, if the players in the squad are good enough they will get a game, i pesonally would not start any rotation until league is won, if that happens to be 2 games into the split so be it.
Lets win the league with as many points as possible... Make the 10 point deduction irrelevant! Nice wee 6 points off the huns as well!
