Over the last batch of games, it has come apparent that Hammond has fallen down the pecking order in the centre of midfield in favour of Schneiderlin/Cork.

Could be over a variety of reasons but i'm not doubting his ability but I like to see Cork and Schneiderlin playing together - they're both top players !

Hammond may still be our captain but if we go up, I think someone else might take over.

What is your view on Hammond ? What would your ideal midfield look like ?

    Please don't slate me ;)

I like Hammond, however Cork/Schneiderlin are playing very well together right now and long term, they will be the best CM so it's only best to start as you mean to go on!

In the Prem, they will be awesome

Hammond is good, Schneiderlin and Cork would hold their own for a top 10 Prem team.

He is there to fill the hole should it appear, have you ever heard a word of complaint from him?

Morgan and Cork were brilliant today. They have cemented their places completely recently imo

Ideal midfield for me would be Lallana Cork Morgan Guly at the moment

Richardson and Guly work great together.

Hammond is third choice central midfielder, he'll get plenty more game time before the end of the season.

For the moment I think Hammond is the ideal captain for Saints. It may seem unconventional to some, but the fact that he isn't always on the pitch doesn't really matter. Adkins implements new ways for Saints to play, and leaving the team captain off the starting line-up just seems to be one of them. It's a gee up for Hammond, but Adkins can always call upon Deano should some real leadership be required. That will surely come along many times before this season ends.

This is something I have always said.

Just because Hammond isn't as young as the other two doesn't immediately give you the option to write him off completely of being a good Prem player, which a lot of people are doing...
