I said he get the job,NW will take Leeds back to the premiership,as long as he is backed by his board. You Leeds fans have a manager that has done it many times and has proven himself to be a master act. You have a cracking manager guys back him to the hilt he will do you proud.
Listening to his interview, Warnock is a delight to listen to. He goes into details about what's gone wrong instead of being vague like Larry was.
Made a comment about being envious of Blackwell when he took the Leeds job, while he was Sheff Utd boss. Said nice things about the club after the QPR game last season. Complimented our fans for being passionate and loyal many times before. In what dimension has he ever hated us?
I want the Leeds manager to hate the club we are up against, I also want him to hate all the opposition players and use this as motivation on our own players. I want him to be inspirational and I want him to know how to get the best out of the players in my team. In Warnock we have this and I'm delighted with that fact. Grayson may have "loved" Leeds, but he was found to be ****e at most thing involved in football management, Warnock will love Leeds as he has done with all the other clubs he has managed, the man is 24 hours his team and we should be fecking well pleased he's now with us.
Failed in The Championship, that is fact. Don't try to defend the prick, there's nowt to defend. The problems with Leeds Utd on the pitch this season and towards the end of last season, were 100% Grayson's inability to do the job to the levels required. Not wanting an argument Simon, I know you have a different view on Grayson than many other Leeds fans, but I would suggest as time goes on, you will find he was found wanting at this level.
He stabilised Blackpool in the division despite them being overwhelming favourites for the drop and built the bones of the team that would get promoted. Also built us a squad to push for the play-offs despite getting ****-all support from the board. Stop making up ****e just because you dislike the man for some reason.
Bollox, and I would suggest you know that, stop standing up for the man just because you liked him for some reason.
The facts are simple, Grayson failed with the 2 Championship clubs he has managed. Did he get them promoted? Did they get near promotion in the end? He may have got them mid table security, but that is not a success, that is meeting limited expectations.
Keeping Blackpool up was definitely success, as was getting us to 7th despite 0 monetary investment. If not getting promoted is failure then people are starting to get pretty skewed views of football. Doing better than you have any right to = success, and Grayson did that at both us and Blackpool.
Grayson clearly had two problems. One was that he found it hard to work out opposition tactics. The other that he failed to see or address the problems in his own team. I have no idea whether Warnock is any better because I've never studied his teams but the basic facts are that he has achieved promotion with different teams on numerous occasions which suggests he does have some idea of these issues. The fact that he calls a spade a spade also points to the fact that he can see the problems and isn't afraid to comment on them. Grayson was never going to get Leeds promoted to the Prem, Warnock at least has the potential to do so.
Failed??? Grayson had us competing with the likes of Hull, Blackpool, Reading ect for play off spots while spending with the likes of Coventry, Doncaster, Watford ect. He gave us Max Gradel, Ross McCormack, Kissa, Browny ect. Got us promoted. If that isn't success I don't know what is. For what we spend, we always overachieve. We can't afford players like Matt Mills, Matty Fryatt or even an Adam Le Fondre. Yet we are still up there with them, sometimes even doing better. Don't knock Grayson, he's the best manager we've had since Sgt Wilko. Our poor form hasn't been Larry's fault, not his fault Bates sells his best players (Max Gradel, Jonny Howson ect) or that he is unlucky with injuries and suspensions. We were playing great before Snoddy, Howson and Brown got injured (all star players against Forest, Millwall ect) and the team just wasn't the same after that. Same for our poor form at the start of the season. Middlesbrough we were class but had 2 men (unfairly) sent off (not Larry's fault). Max missed a spot kick (not Larry's fault). A man sent off against Ipswich and 2 deflected goals (not Larry's fault). Snoddy, Howson & Brown injured (not Larry's fault). Gradel sold (not Larry's fault). Howson sold (not Larry's fault). We've been really unlucky this season with injuries & suspensions to our star players.
Grayson didn't fail until this season. He was truly failing this season and theres no way people can disagree with that. He is a likeable person but it was time for a change. He got us the farthest he could, that I believe
