Guess you missed the 'new' faux rift with Fergus the drunk then. An excuse to offload shrek in the summer, when the whole world knows his new contract was shush money til the end of the season. Are you that blind tha you cant see whats happening at your own club. No 'value' in the market... hmm or more likely no money in the coffers
Yeah Rooney is still there. Why is he still there. It has definitely something to do with a ã150k pay-rise.What has changed since his outburst.Man Uniteds midfield still contains rubbish like Carrick,Anderson and Gibson. Before you give me this guff about the massive spending spree in the summer and a war chest of ã135 million.Thats never going to happen. And when it doesn't expect the ''Green and Vomit'' protest to kick off again.Man United fans have this silly idea they are going to be signing players of the calibre of Yann M'Vila,Jack Rodwell and Luka Modric, when in reality they will end up with a french 2nd division player and two portugese tramps that Ferguson has never seen play and guess what?,they will get scalded on both,as they have seen how much over the odds he paid on Bebe.Well ã7.99 million is over the odds.
What, the rift reported in the News of the World? The same paper that reported Gerrard's wife was having an affair with a Derby player, and Gerrard got a 16 year old girl pregnant? Well I'm definitely convinced...
I don't recall comparing him with anybody else. You sound like a pre-pubescent schoolboy who has to have the last word with anything you say. ****er. Yes you did skew the stats to make your post look better but you got found out to be the gobshite you really are. Now **** off back to the scum board and talk with the other scum pricks on there. They'll probably believe the ****e you come out with.
Which one's the other one? Only saw it quoted from NOTY... Pre pubescent schoolboy? Says the guy who feels the need to swear in every other sentence? Afraid of the truth? Or just frustrated? And I was comparing him - however you look at his goalscoring record it's better than four strikers who 'pool paid a fortune for. So how is he a flop as 'pool fans try to claim? The backup striker has performed his role perfectly
The Irish tabloid? Couldn't see it on their website, but I guess they don't update it that regularly. And when did I say anyone was a liar? I just pointed out that you shouldn't believe everything you read in the tabloids. Or do you think Gerrard actually did knock that 16 year old up?
Fair dos. Actually the Gerrard thing may just be an internet rumour - I dunno if the NOTW ever published anything on it. I guess we'll see in the summer which rumours turn out to be true...but if all the rumours turn out to be true I think Utd will sell every single one of their players...and Liverpool will have at least five teams next year!
First of all where did I say he was a flop? Second, this fortune we paid for 4 players is approx ã37 million = average of ã9.25Million per player Third, we sold 3 of them for ã20 million = average of ã6.6 Million per player Fourth, Ngog is only 21 years old and is ****e anyway so not a fair comparison. Yet again you talk ****e. Fortune... my arse. Oh yeah, Babel was played as a winger so you're not even comparing like for like. Owen gets paid ã20K per game. He also gets ã30K per game appearance bonus. He also gets ã30K per game win bonus. He also gets ã30K per game goal scoring bonus. Hardly free, but you can live in your ****e tinted manc dreamworld and believe all the crap you spew out.
The Gerrard thing was an internet rumour that he had an affair with his wifes sister.Impossible if you ask me,Alex Curran would have to have a sister first. She doesn't have a sister. Both have slammed it. As for Ryan Giggs beating up the Hollyoaks actress Davinia Taylor, thats true.
I didn't say you did. swordofhash did above. One of "slur alecs" [sic] great buys apparently... Oh that's alright then. We paid a grand total of ã13.5 million for Kleberson, Djemba Djemba, Obertan and Bellion - average of ã3.38 million per player. And sold three of them for ã4 million. So by your logic they weren't hopeless flops at all! Considering we make ã3.5 million per home game, I hardly think paying Owen a maximum of ã110k per game if we win and if he scores is poor value for money. Particularly when you consider Babel was on ã3 million a year plus bonuses (although the bonuses can't have been all that large considering his performances)
I think we can all agree to disagree that both Rafa & Fergie have made some awful signings but have also made some brilliant signings. Lets not get our todgers out and slap them on the table about it. Argueing on the internet is like competing in the special olympics (even if you win, you're still a ******). How is Marveaux name pronounced? i'm hoping it's pronounced similar to Marvel as that would be an awesome name. Aside from this the guy has had quite a few injuries. I'm slightly ignorant to the french game, is it as physical as the premeir league? If not will he be able to cope with the rough & tumble?? either way as long as his wages aren't astronomical you can't complaint about getting a 24 year old player on the cusp of the France team for free
Ok, he can balance out Aquilani and Pennant Aw, I knew it was only a matter of time before one of you got sensible and ruined my fun... For what it's worth I agree with you. I think SAF has made the more brilliant signings (Cantona, Solskjaer, Ronaldo, Vidic, Evra) but also the more spectacular flops (Veron, Kleberson, Forlan, Taibi). Whereas Rafa made avoided any really major flops (except Keane and Aquilani) but signed too many players who just didn't make the grade or improve the team. I guess that's a consquence of SAF trying to maintain the level of our squad, whilst Rafa always had to be looking to improve the 'pool squad he inherited.
I think Fergie just tried to combat squad erosion by signing a bulk of medicore players. these players wouldn't ever be a threat to the likes of Giggs, Scholes & Keane but were capable of the odd good performance just to keep them on their toes Benitez wantred to do something similar but after buying Torres had to start selling to buy which meant he was never going to have a strong (or even competant) team outside his first XI - this is still Liverpool's Issue. even with this transfer window we signed less first team players then we let go (we can assume Koncheskey wont be coming back). Although I and just about every other Liverpool support expects that trend to change in the summer
I think it's more a case of he tried to combat the loss of Scholes and Keane by buying relatively young players he thought had potential and he could shape, rather than buying top drawer players who might not fit the system (a la Veron). But most of the CM players didn't work out. When replacing Beckahm and Giggs, on the other hand, he went for Ronaldo and Nani who have turned out just fine. I think it's fair to say that the vast majority of SAF's bad signings (Veron, D-D, Kleberson, Miller, Smith) have been in the centre of midfield, but that's cos he wants a very specific kind of central midfielder, and is stubborn as a mule in that respect. That's a fair point about Torres and the lack of cash, but I always thought Benitez bought far too many players each season. It almost seemed like he was expecting a few of them to fail and be sold at a loss, and counting on a couple of them succeeding. That possibly meant that a few of his purchases never had a chance of succeeding. I know he had to improve the squad, but he could have used a more focused approach. SAF at least waited until a player had been proved a flop before buying his replacement.
The thing is, If you look at Benitez's free/low-mid range purchases post Torres. With what they had done previously and on paper they all looked as though they could do a job. They just didn't Martin Skertl - Admittendly Skertl is one of my favourite players based on his personality but as a player he is not great, at the same time he is not awful and would probably get in to quite a few premier league first team XI's as much as they would hate to admit it Dossena - was an accomplished full back who had caps for Italy when we signed him, you can't be awful if you make the firstteam of the then world champions Keane - Admittedly he was Awful for us but on paper looked as though he could of created quite a partnership with Torres. You have to admit then the idea of Torres & Keane up front together in 2008 sounded like it could have been an immense partnership Cavalieri - We can't comment as Reina is 1st choice keeper Reira - he played a vital role in Espanyol's Uefa Cup run the year previous including a goal in the final. On paper looked as though he could have been a good signing - in fact he first season with us was very good Degan - I'm at a loss Soto - Has had some great games this season. the only bright spark during Roy Hodgsons reign was Soto's passion Johnson - it's difficult for a player that plays in Johnson's position to ever justify such a huge price tag, I honestly doubt Gary Neville would have ever been sold for that much when he was in his prime (for the record I think we really really over paid for Johnson). He is an effective player for us and now Martin Kelly has come in to the side it has taken the pressure off of Johnson defensively. the new 3-5-2 formation really plays to Johnsons strenghs Aquaman - Aquaman was awesome for Roma and after his injury it looked as though he could do a job for us as well. Had hodgson not shipped him off to Juve I think he'd have justified his pricetag this year
I agree with that, but then the same could be said with some of SAF's flops. Kleberson - driving force behind Brazil's 2002 WC win. Again, can't be awful if you can play for the world champions and dominate the entire England midfield without conceding a single foul. Well, maybe you can... Veron - one of the best CMs in the world at the time Djemba Djemba - won the 2002 African Nations Cup, played great for Nantes and at the 2002 WC Forlan - goal every other game before he joined us, goal every game since he left, just didn't perform at OT Even Taibi had played well in Italy, and never fallen over his own studs, before he came to us The top managers always have a good reason for buying the players they do, but some players just don't perform under the pressure or fit into the team. Even Wenger, who I freely admit is the bargain bin master, has made some shockers in his time - Jeffers, Cygan, Boa Mortes, Vivas, Wright and even Pennant! Btw, Glen Johnson for me fits into the same bracket as Berbatov, Ferdinand, Carrick, Carroll and Torres (to Chelsea). Were they not playing in the EPL and being sold to a top EPL team, their prices would all have been at least 33% less. But as soon as Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea got involved the prices soared. Although I think Dani Alves has more than justified a ã23 million price tag at Barca!
