Guly sure is a home bird isn't he!? I thought last night he didn't do enough to warrant a start and thought when punch came on he really got us going and picked the ball up deep and drove us forward to good effect. Me and my mate were saying that he is either quality in training, better than anyone else or Adkins thinks that he will just pop up with a random goal. But surely popping up with the odd goal every home game isn't good enough when he doesn't put enough of a shift in on a regular basis. Also did you see the look kelvin gave him when he ducked away from the front post corner? Surely he should now you head it away no matter what. It's my opinion which is sure to differ to others but I don't think he gives us enough for the money he is on.
Good point and thought Lallana was quality last night.

If you want an unbiased opinion of Guly ask the Burnley fans. They thought he was MoM on Saturday and they just could not cope with him.

I know I keep saying this but if you focus on him far a block of time in a game you will be astonished how much ground he covers and just how much he contributes to the team. I can't comment on last night but I have to say the away games that I have seen didn't point out that ANY of players play that well away from home.

Maybe a psychologist or even a hypnitist is needed to get them to improve away from St Mary's.

Guly really is unfairly treated by some Saints fans

Just because he doesn't put himself around like a traditional English footballer it does not mean he is abject. Guly is our second highest goalscorer this season and last year he did well to hold up the ball as a target man away from home. I am not saying he always plays well but Lallana was off form until recently but no one picks on him. Lots of people just seem to be looking for a fault in people like himself or Davis.

I remember when Guly was still relatively new at the club and we were playing at home just after Christmas in League One (I think it was against Exeter) all these fans around me were slating him even before the game started. He scored two goals and by the end of the evening fans were singing his name; people are fickle. Guly can be frustrating but he has the ability and vision to score and create some amazing goals, like the one that won goal of the season last year.
