http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17033403 what do you make of this? fenians may need not comment
Has it not been said that HMRC were trying to force Rangers into administration over £9m tax which hasn't been paid since Whyte took over in May. I think this £9m and the tax case itself are two seperate issues, both of them are obviously bringing Rangers down but I think it's the £9m that made HMRC make their move today
So it's not as bad as I thought then. What the **** is whyte playing at? 9 million in tax since may??? **** sake!!
Trev, to your credit you have been one of the only Huns to actually ask questions and not just go on the defensive when a Taig was at the wind up. Same when Naiballs got injured. You called it spot on. On the OP, I haven't a clue about all this but I find it funny all the same
Whyte's just not convincing at all, I don't have any faith in him that he can get Rangers through this. The worrying thing is that a lot of people seem to think by doing this Whyte has done what's best for himself rather than what's best for Rangers So many people have so many bad things to say about the guy, they can't all be wrong can they? I was all for giving him a chance but too many things are coming out now and I can't see it getting any better
if we somehow beat this tax case, will HMRC foot the bill for the court costs? I heard we had to pay for the hearing the other day. what the ****? also how many times can they appeal if we do win? it will cost us a fortune if we're constantly in court
In short you are in administration because Whyte has ****ed it up. Never paid VAT or PAYE to the tune of £9m, got a loan of £24.4m, sold Jelavic for £5.5m.......thats nearly £40m income he's had - where the **** has he spent it?!?!? That doesn't include the bits & pieces to other clubs where he failed to pay them transfer monies owed & gate receipts!!!
I did think at one point he had conned everyone, go in to admin, buy the club back whilst wiping a fair chunk ofthe debts off like Bates did at Leeds...............but I think the guy is just mental or a mental Tim!!! No way he will be allowed to run a football club or company again ffs!
HMRC have said they will appeal, appeal & appeal until they win. The big tax case is almost a side issue at the moment though - thats Murrays doing. The fact Whyte generated £40m income and still can't make the club run is very worrying.
This whole thing about HMRC doing a deal with Rangers over the tax case was surely a non starter from the very beginning? Whyte hasn't paid them this £9m so why the **** would they want to accept any sort of deal over the much larger tax issue The things Whyte tells us leaves us with more questions than answers
You'd want to pay your taxes on time to get pally with them ffs not piss them off even more!!! Also the small tax case he agreed to pay for £1.8m when buying the club is still unpaid and is now close to £5m due to added fines & penalties!! Any astute businessman knows taxman gets his first.
Read the taxe case blog. It isn't hard to read. He has called it absolutely right all the way through. I know there was a reticence to read/believe it but maybe now you can put some faith in it. Rangers are challenging a bill. They foot the bill for mounting that challenge. It isn't like a civil claim. I understand that the tax man would take this all the way if they have to. Think of all the other clubs sat back waiting to put the hand in for tax they did pay tax on ebt's.
I really did think he had some sort of long term plan with all this, maybe a trick or two up his sleeve but day by day it's becoming more likely that the guy just doesn't have a ****ing clue what he's doing
I would imagine the HMRC are overjoyed that Whyte got in for the Admin before them. No bad feelings will come out of that I am sure
There must have been a plan. It might be working. Nobody would saddle themselves with that unless there was an 'end game'. I don't really get the margins I think he's working towards..... They can't be worth it.
I'm sure he did have or does have I'm just really struggling to think what it could be!! I actually work in the insolvency/high risk team for a big company & so get to see scams all the time but I can't work out what he is trying to do other than to make himself the main creditor and get the club back through the CVA - but if he hasn't made payments to Ticketus as reported he's ****ed it up unless he knows something that means they will vote in his favour???? Im not even sure where HMRC stand as a creditor in all this with this extra £9m. Pretty sure he will struggle with the 75% vote now though - although until the finances are reported who knows what else is out there.
As I said on another thread he picks the administrators who he hopes will work in his favour. If they do they will try & hold on to the better players who he can sell once out of a CVA.........but that means the youth teams all going & guys out of contract in the summer possibly. In some ways it may be better to sell a star or 2 stave off the creditors & keep the youth so at least you have enough players long term to compete!!
