Can I just say how important this great, great man has been in our promotion race. Every week he wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn't mind getting his top dirty. When we signed him, I had no idea how much he would give to the team. He turns up every week and preforms. Jos, I salute you.
Totally agree! When he signed on loan in the summer I was completely underwhelmed but he's been immense.
Same...everything I read about him suggested that he's fantastic on his day, but prone to errors, which didn't sound like what we needed. First half still looks about right, but practically every match has been his day!
Really strange how great he has been, bearing in mind how little he was valued by Celtic in their "pub league"
He is an extremely good player very underrated by many Saints fans. In the thread about who would be good enough for Prem I was amazed how many didn't put him as nailed on good enough
Sure most people rate Jos, judging by how worried everyone was when he was out. At the beginning we thought he was a panic buy as a stop gap..all I can say is panic as much as you like when you sign players like Jos. All round nice guy as well apparently.
Hooiveld has almost certainly been the signing of the season so far. Can't believe Celtic let him go for a relative song, but they did, and he's such a cool character. Well on his way to becoming another CB Saints legend. He scores vital goals like a modern day Jack Charlton [oops, that gave my age away to the younger ones].
Really like him, the way he does that lap of applause around the pitch at the end of every home game, what a saint.
... and what are some saying elsewhere? If KD hadn't saved late on, Hoover would have given the game away, don't you love positive responses from your own fans?
Yes, agree with all above, but isn't it frustrating that he seems to always be in the right position at the right time, doesn't flap, doesn't get ruffled and almost always looks likes he can step inside and intercept a pas without even breaking sweat....
